Children’s Meditation: How to Teach a Child to Cope with Emotions and Manage Your Attention
Why the child should be taught to meditate, and how this will make life easier for him and his parents, told the UaUa.info teacher of Transcendental Meditation with fifteen years of teaching experience, the founder of the Meditation Studio, Jan Tian.
Modern children learn as much information as we did not even dream of. The nervous system of a child is more difficult to cope with these streams. Overload occurs imperceptibly, but inevitably. Behavioral problems in children, difficulty in concentrating mdash; already, rather, a variant of the norm than an exception.
In conditions of chronic information overload it is no longer enough just to give children knowledge. They need to be taught to learn: to keep attention, to concentrate on the important, to use your memory productively, to cope with stresses and emotions, and to remain effective in conditions of high workload.
The most accessible way to learn all this is mdash; regular meditation.
A long-awaited gift, a trip, a birthday with many guests can also be stress. You yourself know what it is like after a busy day to put to bed an excited and moody baby.
The children's brain is greedy for new impressions. He does not know how to dose information, it is difficult for him to stop. But this does not mean that you need to limit the number of activities and impressions. The child just needs to provide the conditions for mental and emotional rest.
Children's nervous system is still quite flexible and clean. Children quickly process information. To calm down and recover, they sometimes just have a good night's sleep.
Outdoor games, physical activity, any creativity also well relieve internal tension. If you add meditation here, the effectiveness of all these types of recreation will be much stronger.
