Vomiting in an infant; reasons and what to do
I want to start with the fact that vomiting in the baby can be harmless, for example, due to the usual overeating, but it can also be a serious symptom that can not be ignored. First of all, vomiting threatens with extreme dehydration of the child’s body. Just think; Having lost only 10% of the liquid from the main water content in the body, the child faces a deadly danger. What are the common causes of vomiting in newborns, we now consider.
Causes of vomiting in infants
- Maternal hygiene;
- Diet of a nursing mother;
- Change of mixtures;
- Introduction of complementary foods;
- Intestinal infection;
If the child is vomiting and the child does not want to take the breast / mixture, the child is sluggish, the child has vomiting and fever, the baby tears more than three times a day; in this case, self-medication is not worth it, but you need to call an ambulance.
This is the only harmless kind of vomiting, called otherwise regurgitation. If the child ate the amount of food that his stomach is not able to place and digest, a portion of the eaten baby will simply regurgitate. The regurgitation of vomiting is different in that it does not spill out with force, and sometimes simply flows out of the child’s mouth.
Do not feed your baby more than you should, do not shake or bathe after eating. Half an hour of quiet pastime, and that’s enough, after that you can engage in active activities and activities with your child.
Vomiting in a child can be the result of a mother’s failure to comply with hygiene rules when feeding a baby. This can be fraught with serious infectious diseases. If the child is breastfeeding, the mother must follow the rules of hygiene:
- Wash the breast before and after feeding (Basic rules of breastfeeding);
- Watch your own proper nutrition.
On how the nutrition of a young mother is organized, the quality of breast milk depends – and, consequently, the health of the baby. The use of fatty, salty, spicy food by the mother undoubtedly affects the composition of breast milk and can lead not only to vomiting, but also to a violation of the digestive process.
Therefore, every mother, regardless of how the baby reacts to breastfeeding, has an allergic reaction or not, should follow the recommendations for proper nutrition. (Read About Nutrition and Diet)
A 3-month-old baby of my friend started vomiting at night and fever rose. It turned out that the new mixture that my girlfriend wanted to introduce into the baby's diet; not assimilated. The mixture was canceled, and everything became good.
My daughter had vomiting up to three months. The doctor said that I overfeed the baby. But the milk did not just flow out of the mouth, but was fountain-pumped. Apparently it came with the air.
Vomiting; a serious thing. My son also once began to vomit, tore strongly. The day before this grandmothers walked with him in the park, bought a 3-year-old child a pie with a liver (horror) and then another gelatinous candy with a bunch of dyes. It is good that my mother is working in the ambulance, immediately us in an arm and in the hospital. In the nursery we were not accepted (sent to the infectious). But we went to the usual city (in the reception room). They decorated us there, we pumped it and released it in the morning. We managed this. I think that I was lucky. Although the doctor did not consider it necessary to put a dropper, my mom insisted on this. I'm sure that saved us.
