Little known advantages of breastfeeding
Breastfeeding is very useful for mom and baby – it’s a fact. In this article, we will not repeat well-known things, but rather tell you about the beneficial effects of breastfeeding, which were discovered relatively recently by research results 2016-2017.
Once even pediatricians recommended artificial feeding, but these times have long since passed. Now, all doctors agree: there is no more useful food for an infant than mother’s breast milk. Breastfeeding brings an inestimable benefit to the woman herself, and there are very few objective reasons for refusing him.
At one time, it was said a lot about the fact that mother’s milk is rich in nutrients, vitamins, protective antibodies, which are necessary for the child. It has been proved that this is the best food for the newborn, a lot has been said about the strengthening of the psychological connection between the woman and the baby during breastfeeding, although the manufacturers of artificial mixtures and tried to refute it with all their might. But what else is so useful for breastfeeding? The answers to this question will pleasantly surprise you.
In June 2016, scientists made an unexpected conclusion: prolonged breastfeeding (provided that it does not combine with complementary feeding and lure) positively affects the behavior of the child in the future, making it more calm and obedient.
The study was conducted in South Africa, where scientists analyzed the development of 1,500 children. It turned out that children who were exclusively breastfed until the age of 6 months, at 7-11 years, pleased parents with exemplary behavior. They forced adults to blush 56% less often than children who were breastfed for less than 1 month.
According to scientists, it is possible that such a big difference will provoke many long-term consequences. After all, children who behave badly often have low self-esteem and poor progress in school. Reaching adolescence, they tend to tend to antisocial behavior, violations of the law, mental disorders.
Undoubtedly, breastfeeding can not be called the only, but, probably, the main factor on which the behavior and character of the child depends in the future. Still, he plays a certain role here.
Bronchial asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases to which children are exposed. However, its causes are still not fully understood. At the moment it is known that some babies have a genetic predisposition to the disease: a fatal factor may be a variation of the gene in the 17th chromosome. Swiss scientists in September 2016 made a discovery: it turns out that breastfeeding helps in the treatment of symptoms of bronchial asthma.
Formation of the correct microflora in the intestine of a child
The intestinal microflora of the baby begins to form from the moment it was born. In 2017, scientists from Los Angeles decided to test the role of breastfeeding in this process, and conducted the largest study to study this issue. As a result, it was possible to establish that 30% of useful microorganisms that live in the large intestine get a crumb through the breast milk, and another 10%; from the skin of my mother's breast. In addition, breastfeeding continues to promote the growth of the right microflora, even when the grown up child begins to be translated into solid foods.
The results of this study became very important, as they helped to better understand how the intestinal microflora of the newborn is formed and how to influence this process.
