Feeding the nursing mother; opinion of Dr. Komarovsky
The diet of a mother breastfeeding should consist of a balanced and complete set of products. From what and how to feed a nursing mother, depends on the baby’s well-being, its development and health for years. The famous doctor E. Komarovsky in his works gives advice on nutrition for nursing mothers.
All the advice of a famous pediatrician is advisory in nature, however, in matters of nutrition, the doctor adheres to the position of perseverance. Firstly Excludes foods that provoke allergies: citrus fruits, chocolate, strawberries, eggs, seafood. Mom, especially in the first days and weeks, should closely monitor the reaction of the baby to the new product eaten by her. If you are in doubt about a product, the doctor advises you to first eat a small amount of it and, depending on the child’s reaction, decide whether to include it in the diet later on.
All products, because of which milk can change the taste and smell, become an unpleasant baby, are excluded from the diet. This group includes acidic, salty, spicy dishes, sharply smelling condiments. A number of products (beans, cabbage, carbonated drinks) have a bad effect on the baby’s intestines. Their use can increase gas production and in some cases cause diarrhea.
