Fabulously Awesome Tablescape Collection by Pulpo
Pulpo proudly introduces the Fabulously Awesome Tablescape. A myriad of new vases, boxes, trays, glasses, carafes and decorative items makes a nice addition to the pulpo‘s collection of lighting, furniture, and accessories. The new accessories are designed to build diverse and playful landscapes of small and not so small objects on tables, sideboards.
As always and according to pulpo’s philosophy, the creations underline the noble and long-lasting materials they are made of – bronze, ceramic, glass, wood, as well as using more experimental technics, such as fat lava glaze or ceramic-covered foam. Continuing its successful collaborations with Sebastian Herkner and Meike Harde, the pulpo family grows and welcomes four new designers: Kai Linke, Ferréol Babin, RSW, and Studio Furthermore.
The new collection will be showcased during Maison&Objet Paris (8 – 12 September), Hall 7 Stand E21-F22 and during London Design Festival (16 – 24 September), in the Shoreditch Design Triangle, Garden Walk 4, EC2A 3EQ.
GIRAFFE + SWAN + RHINO + DEER by Kai Linke
German designer Kai Linke has imagined a tablescape made out of a clique of four bronze statuettes of animals, from a swan that fits in the palm of your hands to an imposing rhino. Gaining impressions through his travels, nature or within art, he merges seriousness and fun, symbolism and functionality in his designs.
MOUNTAIN + BUILDING + LAKE by Ferréol Babin
French designer Ferréol Babin has imaged a tablescape made out of three ceramic pieces. He created the volumes directly, without any previous sketches. Inspired by his natural and artificial surroundings, his designs merge an awareness of function and rationality, always with a poetic and emotional dimension.
MERIT + BOLA + MAKET + LLANO by RSW
German design studio RSW has imaged a tablescape made out of four ceramic pieces and two wooden sets of three boxes. The ceramic designs are partly covered with a fat lava glaze, a technique developed in West Germany in the middle of the XXth century, consisting of a thick layer of glaze mimicking the texture of lava; and the boxes are made from beech wood, topped with a striking ceramic piece.
London-based Studio Furthermore imagined a tablescape made out of three ceramic-covered foam pieces, a technique the craft-centric design studio has developed, exploring the fields of science, materiality and culture. The results are light structures with a meteorite-like texture.
German designer Meike Harde has imaged a tablescape made out of four glass sets, each including one carafe and three different glasses. Handblown glass pieces combine colored transparency, opalescent and polished surfaces, organic and geometric shapes, all arranged in a harmonious medley of contemporary styles, unified through a repeating color scheme.
German designer Sebastian Herkner has imagined a tablescape made out of three new colors of his Container. Created in the manner of Bohemian craftsmanship, a dash of liquid silver is injected into the glass under pressure, giving them this shiny appearance.
