For me, always choosing the right face cream is a long procedure. I can spend in front of the storefront more than a dozen minutes before I choose one or another product. And I think this approach is correct, because the skin on the face is so tender that unnecessary experiments with it come to nothing.
Previously, I just read the manufacturer’s information on the label for which age a particular remedy is intended. But by trial and error, it came to the conclusion that marking the manufacturer by age is not the most important thing.
Even a rejuvenating cream that has only artificial components in its composition can age the skin of the face even more. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the presence of natural components and extracts.
Before you go to the store for a face cream, you must determine your skin type. To do this, there is a simple test, for the passage of which you need a clean, dry cloth. It is necessary to thoroughly clean the skin of the face and in two hours after this procedure, apply a prepared napkin to the face.
If there are five greasy spots on the napkin (on the forehead, chin, cheeks and nose), then you have oily skin. If there are three spots on the napkin – in the area of the cheeks, forehead and chin – then your skin type is normal or combined. If the spots are not left at all, it means that the skin of your face is dry.
Cosmetologists recommend fearing those creams that, according to the manufacturer, are suitable for all skin types. One of my friends, working in a beauty salon, said that this is just a marketing ploy to attract a customer.
Before buying, I always try to try it. Fortunately, large stores often provide this service. The first thing I always pay attention to is the consistency and smell of the product. If the cream smells unpleasant, I will immediately return it to the counter.
Creams for daytime use have a lighter, more pleasant texture than night ones. For testing, apply it on the inside of the wrist, where the skin is most similar to the skin of the face. The cream should be quickly absorbed and not leave a feeling of stickiness and fat.
Do not buy the cream immediately after you have tried it. Stroll through the nearby shops for half an hour to make sure that there is no allergic reaction to this remedy, and only after that you go back for shopping.
Always pay attention to the composition of the cream. A quality product must protect from solar radiation, even if it is used in the winter. For cold, sunny weather, a more dense, heavy consistency cream will do. For hot summer, it is better to choose light, gel-like textures.
And by what criteria you choose a face cream?
