No matter how much we want the summer to end, the calendar stubbornly shows September, and the time has come to begin our first school year. All summer, the daughter counted the days that remained until September 1, back in June she folded her backpack and pencil case with school supplies. I would like to share with you today how this day went.
As usual, the day before the important event was filled with affairs of varying degrees of importance. Even in the morning we were out of town, and at lunchtime we were already at the airport – we took our beloved sisters on a long journey.
I decided to buy flowers in advance so that I could sleep twenty minutes extra. We decided to stay on the traditional version – a large bunch of asters. They and gladioli were the most popular options for first graders.
I prepared the clothes in advance – everything, including linen and golf. Still once tried on, prigladili and hanged. Backpack on the first day the teacher said not to take.
Surprisingly, we even managed to take a walk on the last day of summer, although the sites were half empty. For a daughter, every opportunity to meet her beloved girlfriends is a joy, therefore, if there is such an opportunity, we never miss a walk.
The early rise is unusual for us, so I was so afraid to oversleep that I already set four alarms. Surprisingly, my daughter and I woke up before them – we were very afraid to be late for school. As a result, they got up so early that they even managed to go after the grandmother, who lives not far from the school.
Despite the traditional rains for this day, it was very hot this year. There was no talk of any jackets, it was hot even in thin shirts. We handed the children to the teacher and went to wait for the children to the line at the main entrance of the school.
There were a lot of people on the line, which are only those who accompany the first-graders – our school this year took on as many as 161 children! In other schools, the entire elementary school has so many children, and we have only the first classes.
The program was standard – a few poems, dance numbers, a greeting from the director and the first bell on the shoulders of a high school student. True, the heat and excitement made themselves felt and my head was spinning terribly, I watched the end of the line from the shadow of nearby trees.
While the children were at school, my husband and I had time to eat and buy a pot for a kindergarten teacher, who we broke up with this year. Still, a bouquet of flowers is too short-lived and banal, but the pot, I’m sure, will remind us for a long time.
At 11 am the first school day ended, our babies were overwhelmed with emotions. During these two hours, they managed to have breakfast, meet the teachers, the study, the rules of behavior at school, learn the verse, and much more.
Meanwhile, the air temperature rose to 37, so we decided to postpone our walk until the evening. On the way home, we went to a daughter’s kindergarten, and probably were the only ones who did it. The teacher was very glad to see us and even put her daughter as an example to her newly arrived kids.
Already at one o’clock in the afternoon the daughter fell asleep and woke up already after three hours. Filled with the forces, we and first-grade friends set off to ride a river boat. The children again received a lot of impressions, because for them this walk along the river was the first.
I am very glad that my daughter’s school is connected with pleasant emotions. Today, the second of September, she woke up again before the alarm clock and ran to study ahead of me!
And how did your children go through the first school day? Let’s share our impressions!
