It seems that quite recently, dear readers, I told you about how I prepare my daughter for the first class. And the year flew by. My daughter moved to the second grade. At school, the daughter learned quickly, studying in the first grade was easy and fun for her.
Grades in the first class they did not put. For the first half of the year, children learned to write letters and numbers, rewriting words and sentences from textbooks. In the second half of the year, they had already written some words from dictation, had the words broken down into syllables. Shortly before the summer holidays, they had a test, which involved copying a small portion of the text from the textbook.
Children have not yet come across essays. They only verbally made presentations on the texts that the teacher read. And for the summer they gave us a task – to write compositions with children. At the request of the parents, the teacher briefly explained to us exactly how to teach the child to write an essay. I am sure that this topic will be relevant for parents of elementary school students, so I hasten to share useful information.
To compose, you need to choose only the topic with which the child is familiar. If it so happens that the topic is unfamiliar to the child, it is necessary to urgently introduce it 🙂 Agree, you can’t write an essay about Lake Baikal, if you have never been with him and have no idea where it is.
When the topic of the essay is already known, you should not hurry to seat the child at the table. It is best to hold a conversation on a given topic, to hear the thoughts of the child.
To make it easier, you can write on a separate piece of paper the names of those objects that will be involved in the composition, for example, forest, river, flowers, birds. Then to these words to find the appropriate verbs. There will be phrases on the basis of which the child will make sentences.
Do not leave children alone in writing an essay. Our task is not only to teach the child to express his thoughts, but also to make him feel pleasure from it.
Best of all, children perceive the game form, this is noticed by me more than once. Yesterday, my daughter and I wrote an essay for the first time. I made a mistake leaving my daughter alone in the room. My daughter was confused and did not write a word.
Then we decided to play a game. We agreed that I would invent and write the first sentence, and the second daughter, etc. In 15 minutes we composed the whole story!
Dear readers, tell me how you taught children to write essays?
