Probably, every mother faced the problem of dry cough in a child and its elimination. The causes of this phenomenon may be different, the doctor will help determine the correct one.
The most common – dry air in the room where the child is. Because of this, there is coughing, sore throat. At the height of the heating season in our apartment is very dry, my daughter and I even woke up at night to drink water. But after the appearance of our humidifier, the dry cough disappeared.
When my daughter was two years old, she suddenly had a dry cough. The throat and lungs were clean, the ORZ option was dropped.
We were just visiting with relatives at that time, and one woman (by the way, a pulmonologist) suggested that this is a cumulative allergy to honey. Accumulative, because before that the daughter ate honey almost every day without consequences.
But whether the honey was different, or really too much of it was eaten, but, as it turned out, the reason lay in it. After excluding this product from the diet, after a few days, the cough disappeared.
For the second year in May, my daughter has a dry cough. Again, the throat and lungs are clean, and the cough has appeared after the lilacs have blossomed, of which we have a huge amount in the area.
Among other things, this year somehow everything bloomed at the same time – and lilac, and tulips, and birch, and even poplar fluff appeared. After taking an antihistamine (I give Claritin syrup), my daughter started coughing a lot less.
I hope that, like last year, after a week or two, a dry allergic cough will disappear along with flowering plants.
At the age of two years old, the cause of dry coughing of the daughter was tracheitis. This is an inflammation of the trachea, the main symptoms of which are a dry cough, sore throat and a slight runny nose.
We turned to Laura, who, hearing a cough, immediately diagnosed. The fact is that this disease is characterized by a cough with a deep sigh. By the way, an increase in temperature during tracheitis is a rather rare phenomenon, the daughter did not have this.
The doctor prescribed an antibiotic (Bactrim in syrup) and on the third day the cough disappeared. It is also possible to treat tracheitis with inhalations of plants. Additionally, expectorants are prescribed.
Usually, this disease is treated quite easily and quickly, complications are extremely rare (bronchitis, for example).
As you can see, the causes of dry cough can be different. Cough elimination is impossible without eliminating the causes. Of course, you cannot destroy poplar and birch, but it is possible to alleviate the symptoms of an allergic reaction.
They can also eliminate the cough of cough lozenges. However, most of them are designed for children over four years old. Also a good tool – spray Chlorophilipt or Ingalipt (carefully – alcohol is present in the first and essential oils in the second).
