How many do not read for the future about possible childhood diseases, anyway, at the right moment you will do everything wrong. And you will do so until correctness becomes a habit. At least with me that way.
Just do not want to develop habits, risking the health of the child. Therefore, in the edification of myself writing a topic – ay-ay-ay, mom.
Error One: Inattention
The day before my daughter was poisoned, I bought myself a yoghurt in the morning. I did not have the opportunity to drink it, and almost the whole day I was rushing with him in my backpack due to rather warm weather. Houses also did not immediately put in the fridge. In the evening of the next day I decided to drink it.
I put it out of the fridge on the table, so I warmed up a bit, and I went to do my most important things. With time, the child noticed the yoghurt and brought me to open it. Since I was very busy, I did not hesitate over the situation – I opened it and gave it to me to drink.
Error two: irresponsibility
After some time, my daughter ran to the toilet and proudly told about what happened to her there. Despite the alarming details, I ignored the information – I was still busy with important matters. That’s when she went into the second trip, it dawned on my mind that something was still wrong.
Gave her two crushed activated charcoal tablets. But when, during the evening bathing, she began to say that she was cold, only then I understood that the situation is much more serious than I perceive it. Having measured the temperature, I mentally gave myself a cuff – almost 39!
Mistake three: improper medication
Immediately gave her Paracetamol syrup – no effect. As it turned out later, I gave only half the norm. Yes, and what effect could be expected when the stomach does not work, and before that several tablets of sorbent were thrown at it! When it dawned on me, I remembered Paracetamol suppositories. Unfortunately, they have been expired for two years. Threw away.
It was still a good idea to constantly give the child to drink: now tea, then some water. When she stopped to freeze hard, she removed a warm blanket and covered her with a light blanket. The state is more or less stabilized, but 38.7 is also hard. I decided to call an ambulance. There, sleepy aunt advised me to give the child an enema and call if the condition does not improve.
The fourth error. Or maybe not a mistake
I still do not know if I did the right thing, but I did not dare, at three in the morning, give the child an enema. She is terribly afraid of such manipulations, since the grandmother in the slightest delay in the chair hurries to put the child on a candle.
Therefore, the daughter lay down with a high temperature until the very morning, but at least a little during this time she took a nap and calmed down. And the morning began with shouts, weeping and persuasion – but the enema was still delivered. And the temperature immediately fell to 37.5.
Then I acted according to the usual scheme: we had breakfast with activated charcoal, during the day we ate tea with breadcrumbs. And the day the child fully recovered. True, thanks to all of my mistakes, we missed the matinee, for which we prepared and taught the poem.
How do you treat child poisoning?
