The abundance of technical innovations constantly reminds us that we live in the 21st century. If I had been told 10 years ago that my daughter would easily be wielding a computer mouse at the age of 4, I would have laughed and wouldn’t believe it.
However, as they say, life dictates its laws to us. Ignoring the wonders of technology few will succeed, it remains only to teach the child the correct and, importantly, safe handling of them.
The daughter of my girlfriend since three years of their own loads and unloads the dishwasher. I have no such miracle of technology, alas, not yet, so for the time being we are training on the washing machine.
From an early age, the daughter watched the operation of the washing machine – fascinated watching the rotating drum, tried to press the buttons and carefully switched the water temperature from 40 to 90 degrees.
Once I explained to her how laundry was sorted – by color, purpose, type of fabric. Now I have a helper who will take out wet laundry with pleasure, fold it and turn off the machine if necessary.
Do not forget to tell that the machine only washes clothes, and is not suitable for washing dolls, dishes and mother’s phone.
You will not surprise anyone with an electric kettle or blender. Of course, these things are dangerous, so they should be kept out of the reach of the child.
Here I would like to mention the camera. I do not give my daughter under any pretext – it is a taboo that is not discussed, because this thing is rather fragile and expensive. If we are too craving for art, you can try to give the baby an old, unnecessary, but working soap box.
Many parents give children to play with the phone. My advice to you is to not regret about lost contacts, a hundred sent SMS messages, erased photo archive and zero balance in the account, set a password. I’m sure a child under two will not even understand the catch.
Due to the awkwardness of my daughter and the lack of understanding of the value of things, until recently I was doing the most budget phone model. Rather, several models, because some of them did not pass the test of water and did not have a shockproof case.
Now I have an expensive phone, the presence of entertainment in which I hid to the last. I am trying by all means to convey to the child that he is dear and that he should be treated carefully while he is working – he asks for permission to use, even washes his hands before that.
By the way, do not forget that a lot of microbes accumulate on the telephone case, therefore you should regularly wipe the device with alcohol wipes.
As for the important files – a similar situation. Set passwords or hide away and do not forget to make backup copies, for, oddly enough, many children easily format the C drive.
Do not leave the child alone with the computer unattended, otherwise, by clicking the mouse, the baby may accidentally get on unwanted sites for children, videos and pictures.
Of course, you need to limit the time spent at the computer, this is decided by each parent himself. Although, I am sure, for many, the 10-minute series of Masha and the Bear is the only opportunity to take a shower or cook dinner without being distracted.
Someone thinks that a computer is a worldwide evil, they are getting dumb and in general it is only for adults. But it should be remembered that a computer is not only a game with weapons, irritating the psyche of Western cartoons and pornography. After all, there are a huge number of educational programs, computer puzzles, coloring games, logic games, language videos, etc.
Protect the child from the technology is not worth it. Indeed, the presence of it in our life greatly facilitates our existence. I am sure that in the future there will be much more technical innovations, and our daughters will no longer wash the floor by hand, and the means for washing dishes will go into oblivion.
And how do your babies communicate with technology?
