This year I gave my daughters to art school. In order to get there, we filed documents in May. There are a lot of people who want to get an art education. We were among the lucky ones.
And from September 1, we became students of the Children’s Art Academy of Myth Avalon. In the first half of the year, our children studied Ancient Egypt, painted pictures on the subject and studied mythology. And at the end of the year we were waiting for the exam. For which, we, along with the children carefully prepared. I want to tell you about him.
Each child chose an image in which he would like to be. The choice was huge, it was possible to become the God of the Sun, Ra, the Goddess Maat, Hathor, Isis, it was also possible to choose the image of Horus, Set, Sebek, Khnum, Anubis and many, many others.
My eldest daughter wanted to be Nifertiti, and the youngest Goddess Hathor. We had to make costumes ourselves and come up with a small performance, telling about our hero.
While we were preparing for the exams, I learned a lot about ancient Egypt. For example, that the sheep-headed God Khnum made people from clay on a potter’s wheel.
And the fact that God was the letter, the reading and the moon was God. And it was he who wrote the older arcane tarot cards on clay tablets. And the words Tarot translates as the path of the kings.
Also, in ancient Egypt there was an underground kingdom, where in the hall of two truths the hearts of dead people were weighed. The goddess Maat placed one ostrich feather on one scale and on the second scale a human heart. And thus measured, how many people were sinful. And once a man came to the hall of two truths, and when Maat put a feather on one side of the scale and the heart of this person on the other, the feather turned out to be very heavy. All the gods were surprised, this is what they saw for the first time. And when the man began to leave, Maat called out to him and asked his name. To which the man replied: My name is Jesus!
I had never even suspected such stories before. And now my outlook on the subject of ancient Egypt has expanded greatly.
It took me two days to complete the basic exam preparation. The day I did the costumes, and on the second day I made up performances.
For the eldest daughter, we remade the song, and for the youngest, I wrote a poem and we prepared a musical composition.
But unfortunately, my works were almost in vain. Since the CD player that was on the exams did not support the format of our record. Therefore, we read the poem without music. I flooded our poem on YouTube and I want to show it to you. Verse here.
And the song was sung at the very end of the event, when almost everyone went their separate ways.
It turned out that we prepared for the performance more than anyone. You could just go out and say a few words about your hero.
Many kids were shy and forgot their words. All the kids had great costumes, the parents were great! And the collars for the ancient Egyptian heroes were painted by the children themselves.
In the hall where the event took place, an exhibition of works of our children was organized. It was very beautiful, bright and solemn.
At the end of the exam, all students were given Papyrus knowledge and an apple from Avalon Island.
