We lived and did not hurt without a pet, and for some time now the child has asked the question: Mom, will we ever have a cat? I, of course, do not upset the child, I promise that someday there will be. While this conversation ends, but I’m already starting to think in detail about the nuances.
Pets of my childhood
I remember, in my childhood I really wanted a dog. But we lived in a communal flat and a reasonable remark from the mother that the neighbors would hardly like our idea somehow stopped. Then we moved to a separate apartment, but I was never allowed to start a dog.
The only thing over time, the parents agreed to the cat. They say it is less hassle with him. Now I understand that in many ways they were right. Any dog should not just walk, comb, watch her, but also educate. And at least it takes time.
But our cat became a member of the family, which we understood literally at a glance. Yes, and he, too, seemed to understand everything that we say, just can not answer the same. In general, this cat really taught us a lot.
When I began to live with my future husband, we also bought a cat. But it turned out to be a completely crazy creature. He did not put his husband into anything. He could not only walk in his face when he was lying on the couch, but also completely calmly scratch him when he didn’t like something.
By the time of puberty, the cat became generally poorly controlled. By that time, I was already in the middle of pregnancy. I was scared for the unborn child, and we gave the cat. Since then, I know that animals, like people, are different. And at first glance, the character is not defined.
And now I’m in thought. The child is already old enough to serve themselves and even learn how to clean up after the cat. Yes, an animal in the house is an opportunity to teach a child responsibility for someone. To be able to iron and squeeze the cat, you need to clean him in the toilet, wash his bowls and stuff.
The daughter will have the opportunity to learn to understand the interests of another being, to reckon with them, to look for opportunities for a normal life together. Yes, and in principle, communication with animals develops.
But I understand that most of the worries about the cat will fall on me. And first of all – the purchase of food, accessories, veterinary services. Not to mention the cleaning of toilets and so on. And the rise at six in the morning, when the cat wants to eat? Not to mention all the virtues of a mature period.
In general, knowing the reverse side of the medal, I still do not decide to buy a cat.
And how do your animals get along under the same roof with the children?
