Morality is the inner attitude of a person, which determines his behavior. This recognition and understanding of such concepts as good and evil, benefit and harm, moral norms.
The formation of the foundations of morality, of course, begins in early childhood. Propaganda of moral principles (for example, love for the Motherland) was widespread in the era of communism, the USSR – from a young age, children were taught to perform actions that meet the standards of behavior of a citizen of Soviet society.
In our time, the concept of moral education includes such children’s qualities as: respect for elders, a desire to act in accordance with their instructions, to refrain from actions that upset loved ones; as well as responsiveness, sympathy, kindness, joy for others.
It is no secret that preschool children are willing to imitate their elders. Do not miss the moment. It was during this period (3-5 years old) that the task of the educator (not the kindergarten student, but the parent as the educator) is to form diverse behavioral skills in children, reflecting respect for adults, a positive attitude towards peers, and a caring attitude to things.
These skills usually gradually become habits, become the norm of behavior: the habit of greeting and saying goodbye, giving thanks for the service, putting any thing in place, culturally behaving in public places, politely asking for it.
Attitude towards animals
Here I would also refer the attitude to animals, although usually this aspect is not given enough attention. Maybe because of the unfavorable situation in families, maybe because of the abundance of violence on television screens, but for some reason the children have now become more violent. Perhaps this is how hidden aggression manifests itself.
And instead of letting the negative energy into a useful course – for example, through sports, creativity, some immoral people torture innocent animals. For me, this is wild and I strongly blame such behavior. Yes, I do not like dogs, but I do not put petards into their mouths.
Modern morality criteria
Now these concepts include basic principles and rules of behavior: respect for clothes and toys, respect for parents and other adults, work of adults and other children (yes, the usual phrase do not break others’ paschka – this is it), adequate behavior with animals , plants, culture of behavior in public places, the right attitude to the younger, etc.
In the moral education of preschoolers, works of literature and art are an active means of influence. They in a bright and imaginative influence on children, causing a variety of feelings, contributing to the formation of their moral attitude to the phenomena of life around them.
Honestly, I was deeply in memory of the story that I recently told my daughter about the blue leaves. If briefly – the boy asked the girl for a green pencil to draw the leaves, she did not give, and then, when she nevertheless deigned to share, the leaves on the boy’s drawing were blue.
Here it is – the influence of literature. But we are surrounded by many such instructive books – Moidodyr (the children do not want to be like a scruffy boy), King Thrushbeard (the princess did not pay attention to the personal qualities of the king), etc.
Now his role in society is no longer being promoted. More attention is paid to the individuality of the child, the development of his leadership qualities, self-confidence, ambition.
However, this does not negate the importance of forming a children’s team – a group in kindergarten, a group of friends on the playground. Thus, children have a common goal, joint activities aimed at its implementation, the need to reach an agreement, the joy of communicating with comrades.
The family plays an important role in the moral education of children. The duty and duty of teachers is only to help parents in this difficult matter. It is important that the principles of education in the family and kindergarten coincide.
Do you pay attention to the moral education of children? What does this concept mean to you?
