This year, on the first of September, her daughter will have to make a decisive step into a new stage of life. Yes, I’m talking about school. But while the child is all in rosy dreams about notebooks, diaries and lessons, I frantically pick up the options. How to choose the right school and not make a mistake?
Long tossed in the solution of this issue, could not decide. At first I really wanted to go to some good level school. I looked at the relatively close excellent lyceum. Children are given there literally for the whole day, the program of training is innovative, in the territory of the pool, sections.
But after talking with a good friend, whose son has been studying there for a year, I realized that financially I simply would not pull such an institution. Let the children have an aromatherapy class, beds for daytime sleep and other comfort, but for some reason you probably shouldn’t take off the last shirt.
One time I was tired of rushing in doubts, but here our dad was constantly telling how he lived well in a regular school full of dunce. None of the teachers brains soar, the report card is excellent, and you can laugh with idiots.
In contrast to his words, she heard a couple of stories from another friend. Her relatives somehow noticed that a teenage daughter, who studied in such an ordinary school, behaves extremely closed and trying to find out what happened, closes herself even more.
And only six months later I learned a terrible thing from her friend. High school students somehow caught the girl in the toilet and (pardon her naturalness) they rubbed her almost from head to toe.
From the idea to give the child to a regular school, I quickly refused. In general, after about a year of thinking and collecting information, I came to these criteria for choosing a school.
Criterias of choice
one. I will not give the child to the school, where they take everyone without preliminary selection. Selecting children by level of development, the school forms a certain number of students. The probability of sitting at a desk with inadequate is greatly reduced.
2 Option expensive lyceum is also not considered. First, it is necessary to adequately assess their financial capabilities. Secondly, what is the point now to pay money for a special in-depth training, if it is still difficult to say what the child has an inclination for?
3 Reviews of parents and students. Of the several options for special schools in my district, I chose the one that not only met the criteria described above, but also had another important advantage – a good first grade teacher.
Indeed, it depends only on his competence, experience and professionalism how the child will relate to his studies and school.
The choice is made. It remains to pass the competitive selection. I hope I was not mistaken in the calculations.
How did you choose the school?
