I think every mother faced various acute respiratory viral infections in her child, poisoning and diseases that caused high fever. Thus, the body reacts to the infection, trying to fight it.
In this topic I will talk about my experience in dealing with high fever.
– it is not advisable to beat down the temperature if it has not reached the level of 38.5
– select an antipyretic agent for the child that will effectively help fight the symptom of the disease (it all depends on the child’s characteristics)
– Do not forget about the dosage of the drug, as it depends on the age and weight of the baby
– if the child does not want to eat, do not force him
– it is not necessary to keep the baby in the garden in the presence of temperature
– give more liquid – it can be warm milk, uzvar, tea with raspberries, honey, lemon
– do not wipe the child with vinegar, only in exceptional cases (it is better to use warm water)
– If the temperature does not go astray, call a doctor or an ambulance
– at HIGH temperature more than 3 days, it is necessary to use antibiotics, which are prescribed by the pediatrician
When my daughter was 1.5 years old, we fell ill with an incomprehensible disease. Cough and runny nose was not. Acetone was normal, but the temperature was constantly rising. And held on for four days, reaching 39.8.
At that time, we were not lucky, because we were located 180 km from Kiev, resting in the village with my husband’s parents. Thank God that there was some kind of hospital and pharmacy in the village. Of course, on any trip I take with me all the necessary medicines.
Our beloved Nurofen in syrup knocked the temperature down for 2 hours and the medicine had to be given again. In addition, I tried to alternate between different types of antipyretic drugs, since Nurofen is hard to be removed from the body.
When the drugs did not work, I had to use the old grandmother’s method – rubbing with warm water and vinegar. I know that many are against this method, but what else to do if the drugs do not help, and the child is on fire.
Nurofen is the only effective remedy for us in case of fever. Others simply do not take us, forcing down the temperature only by a couple of degrees: Panadol, Paracetamol, Analdim.
It was the hardest memory of the heat of my daughter. After four days of sleepless nights and crying, a small rash appeared, which disappeared in a couple of days.
We have often had colds with fever. If the child was feeling fine at the age of 38, I did not knock her down. Many mothers are generally opponents of the fight against this symptom, believing that the body should resist the disease itself. But I do not belong to such.
If the temperature reaches 38.5 degrees, it is worth it to shoot down. Judging by my own experience. The main thing is to give the medicine in time, otherwise the temperature will be hard to bring down. I do not know, like other kids, but Masha often has cold hands and feet at high temperatures. In such cases, I give along with the antipyretic 1/4 pill noshpy on the advice of a doctor.
It is worth noting the popular in our time candles Viburkol and Viferon. I do not know, like the others, but these drugs are absolutely damn us. They even pain syndrome, we never took off. Therefore, we do not use them.
Increasing the temperature of a child without other symptoms may cause an increase in acetone. In my arsenal of medicines there are always strips for detecting acetone in the urine. They are sold in many pharmacies, there are expensive and cheap, but there is no difference between them.
Similarly, acetonemic syndrome is accompanied by nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, loss of appetite, general lethargy and disorder. I wrote more about this disease in my topic.
When the temperature rises, I use the nursery Nurofen in syrup, sometimes Paracetamol and Analdim plugs. By the way, the correct dosage is important for the latter. To determine it, consult your pediatrician.
Do not forget to give your child drugs that normalize the acid-base balance in the body and bring acetone: Regidron, Humana electrolyte, as well as their analogues.
At elevated temperatures in children, it is important to establish the cause of its occurrence. Do not self-medicate, it is better to see a doctor. Health to you and your children!
