All parents sooner or later face broken knees, bruises or bruises. Especially often this happens in summer when they run in shorts and T-shirts with open legs and arms.
Of course it’s all nonsense, you say. But do not forget that even a small scratch, left without proper attention, may be fraught with inflammation.
In the first few years of life, when the baby is just learning to walk, run, jump, the number of falls is simply enormous. They can happen at home, in kindergarten, on the playground, in public transport, in nature. Often this is just minimal damage (abrasions, bruises, scratches, bruises). Such injuries occur when a child falls from a small height (chair, own height) and hit the ground or the floor.
We most often have scratches when a child comes to the grandmother and tries to wash the floors with a cat. And bruises and bruises when playing in the yard on the playground. He always loved to play with children older than himself, and it is very difficult to repeat them, therefore he finds adventures on his ass.
For cuts and scratches, it is best to use clean water and soap, and it should be applied with cotton wool or a piece of gauze. If the wound is quite deep, then for washing it is necessary to take hydrogen peroxide and just pour it with it, i.e. no need to use cotton wool or napkins.
2) Stop the blood
You can stop the blood if you put a bandage on the wound and hold it with your hand. If the dressing gets wet, then you should take another one and put it on top of the first so as not to disturb the already formed blood clots that have coagulated. To quickly stop the blood, let’s say on the leg, it is best to put your foot on some kind of elevation.
3) Use an antiseptic.
To prevent infection, it is best to use an antiseptic. These drugs also have anti-inflammatory effects. Often use brilliant green or iodine. Only the wound edges can be treated with alcohol.
If the wound is quite deep, then it is best to put a bandage on it or to glue it with adhesive tape to prevent dirt from entering. The wound, of course, will heal faster if you leave it open, but if you and your child go to the playground, then it is better to use a bandage, and when you get home, remove it.
As for bruises and bruises, we act like this. Most recently, we fell very face down on the steps. We hit her cheek, but the bruise went by the eye. First of all, we put a cold, because were in the store. That ice turned out to be this cold, and then Traumeel’s ointment was used at home for several days. I like her most of all the drugs of the same effect.
For deep cuts or wounds, keep in mind that there is a possibility of tetanus infection. I recently in the comments to the topic said that in nature I had pierced my foot with a nail, so I had to go and vaccinate with ADS. So if you are not vaccinated, it is better to consult a doctor in order to avoid unpleasant consequences.
When to go to the doctor
1) If heavy bleeding.
2) Scratch or cut on the face. In most cases, if the doctor properly bandages or stitches, the scar may not remain.
3) If you see signs of inflammation.
4) If the child bites an animal.
5) If the wound is deep, then you need to put a seam.
6) If there is a foreign body in the wound, such as glass or wood.
First, try to protect the child to the maximum and protect him from negative situations, explain to him what the consequences of his actions might be. But if it really happened, then keep calm. If the child is hurt and scared, and then the mother is all hysterical, it will negatively affect his condition. Calm him, tell that the doctor and you will do everything to heal the injury very quickly.
