I like to read books very much. If I have 20-30 minutes of free time, then I will definitely spend them behind the book. Therefore, I want to instill the same love in my son.
From about 1.5-2 years old we began to learn letters. But this process was very difficult. The son showed absolutely no interest in the alphabet, in whatever form it was offered. We had a music book, an interactive poster, cubes and even cartoons.
The result was zero. Therefore, I decided to leave my son alone so as not to discourage the desire to study at all.
Last winter (at 2.5 years) we resumed classes. The learning process went much faster. Probably, he just grew up and he was interested, because all literature remained the same. We learned the letters in about a week. At this I calmed down. But she was wrong, because it is not enough just to learn, they still need to be repeated at least once every two days.
It seems to me that teaching a child to read is not so difficult, it is more difficult to interest him. And to do this, you need to present any lesson in the form of a game.
I am currently engaged in the study of various methods of teaching reading, which we offer on the Internet. But the main thing is that my desire to teach to read coincided with the desire of my baby. I do not want to force something to do, as well as learning to be patient, because I understand that you don’t need to be scolded for failures, but, on the contrary, you should be encouraged.
It is necessary to teach the child to read, let him gradually, but every day. Actions must be consistent. It should not be that today mom has a lot of work, we will not study, tomorrow we go to visit, therefore the lesson is canceled, and after two days there is some other reason.
Start learning the letters, and read best from the cubes. My husband and I first showed the letters, then asked to find some of them on the dice. And now we ask you to show the object with the letter B, C, etc.
Very interesting game that will appeal to many kids. Indeed, at the age of 3-4 years, they already have girlfriends and friends, and they understand the meaning of the word friendship. You can play everywhere, during a walk, in transport, in a car, at home. And the meaning is this: you write letters at a distance from each other, and the kid puts them in syllables.
For example, the letters want to be friends M and U or D and A. A child must learn to read two letters together. The game does not take much time, but it will be very useful.
This game can be applied at the second stage. When a child remembers a few simple syllables, you can ask him to find them in a book or on a sign in a store. It develops visual memory and attentiveness.
The first words can be made using cards. You can buy them in the store or do it yourself. For several days, show the same syllables, then others, but not forgetting these. And when several syllables are already learned, you can put them in a word.
The son likes books, he listens with pleasure to fairy tales and says letters. So now I try to stir up interest in learning and try to teach him to read by syllables. This is best done using cookies. I ask him to find certain letters, and then he read them together – in one syllable.
