All children love various experiments and experiences and messing with water. If you put everything together, you can get a very exciting experience, and it will be interesting for both children and adults!
What is needed for the experiments
For our experiments, it will be enough to have on hand ordinary water and a minimum set of auxiliary tools (which ones I will write below). When conducting experiments, I tried to intervene as little as possible in the process and the children did everything on their own. Only in this way they will remember all the properties of water.
This experiment cost me my favorite ceramic coffee cup. The eldest daughter wanted to know how the water expanded during freezing. She poured water into a cup and put it in the freezer. But you can get by with small victims and pour water into something plastic. After freezing, the water level in the tank will rise.
Push water out
The purpose of the experiment is to see how the water level rises, if you put objects in it. In the glass we put something light, pour water, but not until the end. We give the children pebbles, which they will throw into the glass until light objects are poured over the edge with water.
This experience, my daughter tried to spend the whole winter and regularly brought home snow. I also remember that when I was still in the first class, my friend and I stuffed snow in a shift and brought it home as a scientific experiment. Actually, this is the experience – show the child how the snow melts and tell him that it consists of water.
Lenin wrote letters with milk, and we will write secret letters with the help of water and lemon. Mix in equal proportions lemon juice and water. Using a cotton swab, we write this mixture on a piece of paper or draw it. We wait until the paper is dry, and heat it under a table lamp. Ink will manifest!
Experience with air
This experiment can be carried out in a bath or in a basin. Pour water into it and carefully lower the empty glass upside down. The task of children is to prevent air bubbles from escaping from the glass. At the second stage, lowering the glass, we slightly raise its edge and draw the attention of the children to the fact that instead of air, water appeared in the tank.
We drop the raw egg in a glass. It sinks. We take it out and add salt to the glass – a few spoons. After the egg is laid in brine, it will float on the surface. Saltwater is denser than usual, which is why it is easier to swim in the sea.
In Khakassia (it is located in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory) there is Lake Tus. Its salinity can be compared with the famous Dead Sea in Israel. I tried to swim in this lake, an unforgettable experience. You just hang in the water and you can not move at all, the water will push. But diving, and frolic in the lake also does not work, the water seems to be tough and eats away the eyes.
Experience with a straw
Pour water into one glass, and leave the second empty. We put a straw into the water, pinch its tip with a finger, pull it out and remove a finger above an empty glass. Water will pour out from a tubule.
This is only part of the experiments that can be carried out with water and tell children a little about its properties. So, playing, they will receive their first lessons in physics.
And what experiments with water do you know?
