For several weeks I had to not drive my daughter to kindergarten, because the temperature on the street had dropped, but there was no talk about heating in the rooms. In spite of the fact that preschool institutions and hospitals should begin to heat earlier than apartments, the line did not reach our garden.
It would seem that September is on the street, but we already got winter clothes and gloves, because the thermometer showed only a few degrees above zero. Our teacher even said that despite the fact that she is against the pants on the girls, she strongly recommends that they don’t wear skirts with dresses in the group, but warm pants over the tights.
Although, what kind of pants are there, if many children, even in blown and knitted vests, were indoors. Even children had to sleep in tights and sweaters, and this is in view of the warm blanket.
We had the opportunity to feel the cold in our own skin when we were at the parents’ meeting (and this, I want to note, is the end of the working day and week, when the air in the room has warmed up a little bit). I was wearing a jacket, a scarf, and shoes, but I was frozen cold.
Then my friend and I decided to look into the nursery / toilet – it was even colder there. And this is not surprising, because the water in the taps was ice-cold, and the children in it have to wash their hands several times a day.
It would seem that the easiest way out in this situation is to install an electric heater in the group’s premises, which we expressed the idea at the parent meeting.
At first, our teacher rejected her, because it is contrary to the rules of fire safety. I remember that a similar answer was to our proposal to install a cooler, we also failed to implement this idea.
However, when the air temperature in the group dropped to 15, the teacher did not only change her mind, but also brought her heater to the group. Alas, this did not help – after all, the old electrical wiring did not carry the additional load and instantly poked plugs in the garden. Well at least we did not buy a new heater, otherwise it would have stood idle and the money would have been wasted.
In the kindergarten that my niece attends, things are better with wiring. Otherwise, to be honest, the garden would simply have to be temporarily closed, because it is simply impossible to be indoors all the day at 11 degrees.
They decided to stop at the classic infrared heater, which corresponds to the area of the rooms in the group (they took two – for the bedroom and the playroom / dining room). Plus it is that the heat element is installed on a stable foot, which reduces the risk of contact of children with hot.
Of course, fan heaters are much cheaper, but their power is weaker. Another option is a convector, but they are usually floor-standing, while infrared can be used on the leg and attached to the wall.
Financially, the costs are not that big. The average cost of such a heater is 1500 UAH (4500 rubles), if you purchase two heaters for a group of 25 people, then each child will receive about 120 UAH (360 rubles). Agree, not such a big payment for the comfort of the child.
Of course, in the nursery and junior groups, the heater is an additional cause for concern for parents and caregivers. Therefore, special attention should be paid to its safe location. Here, I think, the best option is to mount on the wall at a safe height.
Another well-known nuance is excessive dry air. But buying an additional air humidifier in the kindergarten is too much. It will be cheaper to regularly air the premises.
Now, fortunately, the heating season, though late, has begun. Although, who knows what will happen next – there is a long and cold winter ahead … Does your kindergarten have experience in installing heaters?
