Of course, safety rules should be observed regardless of the season. However, in summer, it seems to me, the probability of child injury is greater.
The presence of headgear should be observed without any exceptions. If the child is against, you can choose the panama together, based on his taste preferences.
However, even in a cap it is not worth to be in the sun during its greatest activity (12-16 hours of the day). If you too want to be in the fresh air – choose only shady places.
Also, do not forget about sunscreen, because children’s skin is usually more tender and sensitive than adult. The higher the SPF of the product, the better.
If mosquitoes are relatively safe, then tick bites can be the cause of such serious and dangerous diseases as Lyme disease or encephalitis. You are mistaken if you think that you should be careful of ticks only during outdoor recreation. For example, I somehow found a tick in a baby carriage at a time when we were just walking in the yard.
Last summer, my friend and I went to the polyclinic for inquiries to the garden, and right in the queue she found the son of a tick right in the ear. And this despite the fact that nowhere outside the city and in the forest they were not.
So, to minimize the chance of meeting with a tick, you should not wear open clothes and shoes during outdoor recreation. Just today, my daughter and I were on kebabs, so before going out I carefully treated her clothes and shoes with a remedy for ticks and mosquitoes. Upon returning home, the body and hair of the child should be carefully examined.
If you still find a tick, after removal it should not be thrown away, but should be placed in a closed container (with a wet piece of cotton) and taken for analysis for its infection.
By the way, the doctor who pulled the tick from the boy, about whom I wrote above, for some reason threw out the bloodsucker. And my mother waited 10 days, and then donated the child’s blood for Lyme disease (it is after this period that the analysis is informative). But my girlfriend for the third year of this disease is treated, alas, without success.
Mosquito bites can be quite painful, now we have such mosquitoes, after biting of which, even a thickening and swelling may appear on the skin. Means such as Fenistil, Dermadrin, Psilobalm, or even Boracrem will help reduce itching and swelling.
Wounds and scratches
Because of the minimum clothing in the summer, children often suffer from their knees and elbows. The best option is clothes with closed knees (capris, leggings, leggings). As an antiseptic, I always carry hydrogen peroxide in the form of a gel or Chlorhexidine.
In the summer it is quite easy to catch diarrhea or enterovirus infection, if you do not pay due attention to the rules of hygiene. Vegetables and fruits should be thoroughly washed to avoid contact with pathogenic bacteria and viruses.
I hope my topic will be useful on the eve of summer. To be honest, I used to somehow never thought about how dangerous the consequences of a walk without panama or an insect bite can be.
Of course, you should not deprive yourself of rest at the pond or in the forest because of the fear of injury. If you follow certain rules, your pastime, I am sure, will bring only pleasant emotions!
