Now we are preparing for the operation to remove the adenoids of the younger daughter. This is expressed in the fact that we pass all kinds of tests. In particular, they made a cardiogram, because the operation will take place under general anesthesia and the child’s health must be fully evaluated. By the way, before that the cardiogram was done to the daughter only once in a lifetime.
It would seem, what difficulties may arise if the surgeon in the hospital gave us a list of tests and it says that it is necessary to make a cardiogram? But not everything is so simple!
To begin with, the cardiologist from the clinic not so long ago quit and have not yet found a new one. Therefore, the cardiogram is done, but with the description (with explanations) difficulties arise. Papers from our clinic go somewhere else and come back only after 2 weeks. This time.
Secondly, the manager of a polyclinic writes on a cardiogram. We had a very incomprehensible conversation with her, because She didn’t want my child to have this procedure! She began to talk about the fact that adenoids – this is not the operation, about which we must worry. And in general, who thought up to do this? To my remark that general anesthesia is still serious, she just snorted. But the direction has given.
As a result, we did the cardiogram, but still went to a paid clinic for a description, since wait 2 weeks is simply unrealistic. That is why we have all the treatment takes place with such difficulties? A question to which I cannot find the answer.
Why is it necessary
And really, why does a child need an ECG? In fact, this procedure can be carried out infrequently. But, for example, in the first year of life it is obligatory and not by chance. ECG is performed to exclude congenital heart defects. Other problems are identified in school-age children: hypertension or heart rhythm disorder. All because of a sedentary lifestyle, numerous stresses and many other factors.
With the help of a cardiogram you can detect the following diseases:
– hypertrophy of various parts of the heart
– angina pectoris
– congenital and acquired heart defects
– metabolic disorders in the myocardium
– heart rhythm and intracardiac conduction disorders
Even the names of the diseases themselves already inspire fear in me.
How is the procedure
An ECG is very simple. We came to the reception with my daughter, she was asked to undress before the panties. With us we had a diaper, which was laid on the couch. My daughter went to bed, and sensors were fastened on her: in the chest area, on the arms and on the legs. As we chatted with the nurse, the deed was done. It is very important that the child is calm, then the data will be objective. My daughter was in a good mood, because I saw that I was laughing for a couple with a nurse.
The cardiogram itself looks like a painted leaf and requires a description of the doctor. A child cardiologist at this point may not even see, because All data is recorded by the device. My daughter is fine and she is going to have an operation, which is why I, of course, am very worried. But more about that in another topic.
