I love order and I think it is better to warn than to regret the unfinished. Therefore, every year at the end of the holiday season, my daughter passes tests for several indicators.
I want to announce in advance that the number of blood samples is not directly proportional to the number of tests. The blood is given once, from a vein in children, they usually make a puncture on the outside of the hand.
One of the main indicators – hemoglobin. Now for some reason the rate of its content in the blood has been reduced. Normal for children aged 1 to 6 years is considered to be in the range from 110 to 145 g / l.
I also donated blood for sugar (the norm is an indicator in the range of 3.33-5.55 mmol / l) and the thyroid gland hormone (thyroid stimulating hormone) – the norm for children 1-6 years old in the range of 0.85-6.5 µMU / ml.
General urine analysis
It characterizes the state of the child’s urogenital system. Protein should be absent, as well as salts, bacteria, epithelial cells, bilirubin, mucus.
Many people think that it is better to donate feces in order to detect the presence or absence of these unpleasant creatures in the body. However, this is not quite true. In order for the analysis to be informative, the feces should be taken 5-6 days in a row (!) And by all means fresh morning (mothers of young children know how difficult it is to implement).
In addition, the same pinworms are detected by analysis on enterobiosis – scraping flora around the anus (with a cotton swab or tape), taken by all means in the morning, since these reptiles lay eggs in the early morning at dawn.
The best way to detect hepatic worms, ascaris is to donate blood for antibodies to them. There are two options – they are either there or not. However, if the indicator deviates from the norm literally by a little bit, then it is compared with the KLA, usually, if there are ascarids in the body, the content of eosinophils and basophils in the blood is also exceeded.
Kidney and liver tests
As they say, in order not to get up twice, I decided to check the condition of the liver and kidney of my daughter – I donated her blood for kidney and liver tests. They make it possible to identify problems in the functioning of these organs.
In order not to confuse you with complex terms, I would say that it is enough just to check the results with the norm indicators, which are easy to find on the Internet. And in private laboratories they are written directly on the forms with analyzes.
Yes, this kind of clinical examination is not a cheap pleasure (the total cost of tests in a private laboratory is about 3200 rubles). But if there is such an opportunity, then, I believe that it is better to be tested regularly, so as not to guess or doubt the condition of the child.
After all, many diseases are easier to prevent and begin treatment before the disease goes into the acute stage. Yes, and I live calmer when I know that my daughter is healthy and does not bother her anything.
And how do you feel about tests without a doctor’s referral?
