My daughters are very fond of everything related to numbers. This love began to manifest itself at an early age. Grandfather often went on walks with them – the husband’s father, a physics teacher at the lyceum. It was he who taught the girls to count.
Not surprisingly, at 2 years of age girls were counted to 10 and back. They considered everything that would fall on the way: cats, shops, trees, and even steps at the entrance. And if someone lost count, one of the sisters immediately corrected the other.
Grandfather was very proud of his achievement. When he met someone from his acquaintance during a walk, he would certainly ask Esenia and Agnia to count something. Acquaintances were touched, and the grandfather accepted compliments.
Thanks to the grandfather, the girls in three years had coloring with numbers, counting sticks and even real scores, which have been preserved for a long time.
The efforts of my father-in-law were not in vain. At the city math olympiad Agniya won the first place, and Esenia – the third. Grandpa was the happiest of all! It all started small – from the count of trees and cats, also from colorings that teach kids to count.
Are your kids interested in math? Do they like coloring with numbers?
