My daughters at the age of two knew all the colors and shades. I remember how surprised teachers in kindergarten! When the girls came to the kindergarten for the first time, Agnia exclaimed loudly, looking at the picture on the door of the locker: Mom, look, what a beautiful turquoise car!
Learning colors with children was not at all difficult. We did it in the form of a game. During the walks, I told my daughters what color the fence, shop, flower. Then the girls, looking at other objects, exclaimed: Look, at the aunt’s jacket, like our shop! It was both funny and uncomfortable at the same time.
At home, we consolidated knowledge with the help of simple games. For example, laid out multi-colored cubes or details of the designer on the floor. I called the colors one by one, and the girls submitted objects of the named color.
A little later, we began to learn what colors should be mixed to get a particular color. Of course, it was not without mixing watercolors on a sheet of paper. From this activity, the girls were delighted!
As it turned out, to teach children to identify colors is not difficult. The main thing is to approach this process creatively, turning learning into a fun game.
