This is a complex physiological process in the body of a woman, as a result of which a new living organism develops from a fertilized egg.
The duration of pregnancy in healthy women is on the average 280 days (from 266 to 294), or 40 weeks (38-42), 10 obstetric or 9 calendar months.
Everything begins with fertilization, i.e. fusion of an egg with a sperm. After the fusion, the nucleus of the egg has a complete set of chromosomes and begins to be divided in the first 24 hours. By the end of the third day, the embryo consists of 16-32 blastomeres and enters the uterus. Further, it is implanted into the uterine mucosa and further growth.

Hormonal changes in the mother's body and growing uterus inevitably affect the state of health of a woman.
Endocrine glands produce hormones necessary for the normal development of pregnancy and its preservation. These biologically active substances reduce the tone of the uterus, in parallel affect the gastrointestinal tract and the walls of the vessels, leading to constipation, nausea, varicose veins.
