The greatest concern for a future mother is pain in the lower abdomen during pregnancy. There is a feeling of fear, a desire to immediately flee to the doctor.
In some cases this will be the right decision, but sometimes the alarm is premature.
When abdominal pain in pregnancy is normal
In the event that they are called stretching the ligaments connecting the bones. Usually, such pain is felt stronger on the right side of the abdomen – it is in this direction that the growing fetus stretches the uterus.
The pressure of the developing fetus is felt by the muscles, veins, joints, which also does not always pass painlessly.
The main task is to make sure that the reason for the pain is precisely this. It is not difficult to do this – just sit down and completely relax, if the unpleasant signs have disappeared, then there is no reason for excitement.
If the pain is strong enough, then lie on your side and lie down for a while. It’s nice to take a warm bath or do a light back massage.
Such discomfort usually occurs during the first three months of pregnancy. Then the uterus grows to the extent that the iliac bones begin to serve as an additional support for it and the pressure on the ligaments weakens.
The pain can be localized in various places of the abdomen and, depending on it, and also on the basis of other symptoms the doctor makes a diagnosis. Consider what can be caused by pain.
Discomfort and pain, accompanied by nausea, heartburn, swelling, bitterness in the mouth can be caused by both baby movements and malnutrition. If a change in the diet does not help, you should seek advice from a specialist, because health problems may be more serious.
