How does a gynecologist determine pregnancy on examination?
Hardly a woman has the slightest suspicion that she may be pregnant – she immediately needs an exact answer. Tests, changes in taste preferences, shapes and behavioral aspects indicate a pregnancy a little later. The only reliable sources are ultrasound and a visit to a gynecologist. If the ultrasound diagnosis is clear, then how the gynecologist determines the pregnancy is not entirely clear.
When you have the first doubt about pregnancy, you should visit a doctor – a gynecologist. They take in city clinics or women’s clinics. An appointment is made by phone or by personal visit.
In order to determine the presence of pregnancy in the early term, the doctor must pay attention to certain signs. In obstetrics and gynecology, three groups of these symptoms are distinguished:
- probable (possible);
- reliable (accurate).
Presumptive symptoms – do not give any accurate information. They can testify both about pregnancy, and about the presence of other diseases or developing pathologies in the female body. Based solely on such signs, the gynecologist will not be able to pinpoint the fact of pregnancy.
