Often, our grandmothers learned about where children come from when they are already married. They didn’t know what Braxton Hicks contractions were and had no idea about the Apgar scale. They did not count contractions by the minute and did not do epidural anesthesia. What can not be said about us – about modern mommies, who have cracked up the Internet far and wide.
But are pregnant women really really need all the information that the Internet abounds in? Newly-born women are in a hurry to share their experiences: sometimes good, sometimes bad, joyful and sad, happy and sad. With their mouths open, future mothers read how the births of other women who were already experienced in this business were held.
Advantages and disadvantages
On the one hand, in such stories you can gather useful information, for example, about the doctor or the conditions of stay in the hospital. Prepare for what awaits you, what unpredictable situations can be, and just be glad for the happiness of people.
However, sometimes the stories about the birth of babies are so detailed: with horrors and exclamations like: I will never go again in my life !, describing what terrible doctors, dirty hospitals, terribly sick stitches and hemorrhoids. All this negative can simply frighten a young, impressionable pregnant girl. And childbirth will dream her in nightmares.
And if the scary story is spiced with natural photos of the child’s birth process, and even a video of a woman screaming in agony, then of course, what kind of positive mood can we talk about?
During the carrying of my children, I did not read the special literature, but, like everyone, I used the services of the Internet and found answers to my questions. Of course, for the sake of curiosity, I looked into the diaries of young mothers, and after giving birth, I wrote my detailed reports. To be remembered.
But both of my stories turned out to be quite joyful and calling on future mothers not to be afraid of the upcoming important event. Yes, and my impressions read only favorites. I want to tell all the girls who are still preparing for the birth of babies – do not read sad and creepy stories! If you want – read the bright stories with a happy ending.
I was now interested to know when and what is formed in the child in the womb. Therefore, each new week I opened the calendar of pregnancy and read what my baby is forming and developing now: legs, pens, hairs, nails. It was really curious.
But you can never abuse information from online resources. Every pregnancy, every birth is very individual. And then, having read the stories, the woman in labor believes that she knows everything and begins to teach doctors how to take birth. She considers herself terribly smart and well-read to obey obstetricians.
Forbids to put droppers with drugs – it is harmful, to stimulate the generic activity – it is impermissible, to use anesthesia – for nothing !. After all, her friend in her blog told about independent childbirth, which means that she needs it!
And after medical interventions there can be only negative consequences. Smart girls argue, find fault with every action of doctors, criticize and say that they themselves know how to give birth to them … Well, as a result, doctors interfere with their work and harm themselves. And after that – new negative stories appear on the Internet …
