While planning the first pregnancy, I thought about what time of year it is better to give birth. And I really did not want the pregnancy fell in the summer. In general, I endure badly and severe cold and excessive heat, but the second seems to me worse.
And with the first child I was relatively lucky: my daughter was born on June 14th. And although May that year was hot almost from the first day, I suffered from the heat for only a month. The most terrible test for me was swelling, because of which I could not wear normal shoes. After giving birth, the sandals had to be thrown away, because they were two (!) Sizes larger than I usually wear.
This time the delivery date was set for me on September 10th. That is just the deadlines fall in the summer. I must say that June this year turned out to be quite cool, in May, fresh. When my acquaintances were outraged by the weather, I said that it was all because of me, I thought of such weather for the summer. But apparently, I’m not such an experienced witch: from the second week of July, the sun began to turn on more strongly, and now for three weeks now, I’m hot.
In June, we moved; there is no air conditioner or fan in the new apartment. At first it seemed that there was nothing wrong with that. The apartment is not particularly sunny, it is quite tolerable during the day, the main thing is not to go outside. (And on the street in the middle of the day, dizziness happened to me a couple of times, and I decided not to tempt fate anymore).
In the peak of the heat, even at night it is hard to fall asleep from heaviness in the whole body, which makes itself felt because of daytime edema and stuffiness.
Who is to blame and what to do?
As it turned out, the more you sit or lie during the day, the worse you feel. Need to move. But you can’t go out on the street, you have to fuss at home.
Despite the swelling, the doctor said that liquids should be drunk as much as usual. In order to minimize pressure on the kidneys because of edema in the lumbar region, she recommended to take the knee-elbow position. I decided it was stupid to read something or watch TV in this position, and decided to wash the floor on all fours more often. It helps! True, at the same time you will wash your own, but nothing – immediately into the shower.
When the heat subsides by seven or eight in the evening, I try to go for a walk in the park. After dizziness, I now always take a bottle of water with me, even in the evening. Than I like the evening exercise, after it turns out to fall asleep easily and quickly, even in the toilet during the night is not so often run. After this sleep, swelling in the morning is completely. And if you sleep without a walk, for some reason, the swelling remains partially.
Salt baths for the feet during the day I was advised by the district therapist. I will not say that it is so great that it draws out water, but when you sit so little, it becomes easier.
As it turned out, in the summer of pregnant women in the last periods it is even more important to monitor their weight than at other times of the year. Excess weight retains more fluid in the body and aggravates the situation. Therefore, it is necessary once a week to arrange a fasting day, eating only vegetable salads. The first time was difficult to sustain a diet, and therefore had to try again the next day. And yet the result on the face – minus a pound for ten days. With that, before this, in two weeks I added 1.8 kg!
