When I became pregnant with my first child, I could not have imagined that pregnancy would be resolved not by natural childbirth, but by a planned cesarean section. The fact is that my daughter decided that she did not like to hang upside down, and she spent about half of the time in pelvic presentation. And, besides, she managed to wind herself with a umbilical cord, which finally blocked my way to natural childbirth.
The reasons for the appointment of a planned cesarean section
Usually a planned caesarean section is assigned to the expectant mother, if there are any complications that can disrupt the normal course of labor. If such a decision is made, then the operation will be performed until natural childbirth begins.
2 weeks before the expected date of birth of the child, i.e. at 38 weeks I went to the hospital to spend a week there before the operation. During these 7 days I was examined, clarified the condition of the fetus on CTG and ultrasound, and the doctor appointed the date of the operation. The date was set as follows. Monday is a hard day, my doctor said. On Tuesday, I do not work. But on Wednesday, January 15th we will perform an operation for you.
Unplanned elective caesarean
But everything went a little differently. On Monday evening, I ate heartily from the mandarins and realized that my waters began to flow away. My doctor was urgently called in at one in the morning, on January 14th, as a result of a cesarean section, my daughter was born to me, which to this day is distinguished by particular persistence in achieving the goal 🙂
From the doctor I, of course, received the first number for a hearty tangerine dinner. After all, in theory, everything should be completely different, as I was able to see with my youngest daughter.
How should the planned caesarean
I agreed with the younger daughter with the doctor that I would not go to the hospital in advance, and arrived in the morning of November 26 directly for the operation. I ate the last time last night, and in the morning I couldn’t even drink water. I had not very pleasant hygiene procedures and after a short wait I was asked to go to the operating room, where my youngest baby was born 🙂
After both operations, I spent a day in intensive care, where I was given droppers and injections. After about 6 hours I could get up and walk on the wall.
A cesarean section is a lane operation and therefore, on the first day, you could only drink water. Then my relatives brought me broth with crackers (on the second day). After that, for about a week I kept a strict diet, ate soups, cereals, and drank compotes.
It turned out to be very important to trace the first chair, it should appear no later than on the fifth day after the operation or earlier. Otherwise it may inhibit uterine contraction.
After 5 days, I had an ultrasound scan on which the doctor made sure that I was fine. We were discharged with daughters both times on the 6th day after the operation.
Refusal of operation
Surely this question worries so many expectant mothers. I noticed a trend that if caesarean was prescribed 10 years ago very easily, now doctors are trying to the last to have the woman give birth to herself. The patient herself can also refuse the operation.
When I was pregnant with my second child, in various health facilities I was called as a woman with a scar on the uterus. I may be a coward, but I did not want to have a second child myself, although there was such an opportunity. The doctor from the consultation assured me that the risk of complications in childbirth after the first cesarean was minimal, but I still preferred to go the beaten track.
And you were scheduled elective caesarean section?
