I learned about my pregnancy in the early stages, at 4-5 weeks after the test showed the second fuzzy strip. And after some time, having called the registry of the antenatal clinic, I made an appointment with the gynecologist for the nearest number.
How it all began First trimester
In the hospital reception I was given a voucher for a doctor. Exchange card until the plant did not, because there was no confirmation from the gynecologist about my interesting position. After being examined by a doctor, I was given an exchange card with a beautiful baby on the cover and a bunch of pieces of paper that were difficult to figure out the first time.
For registration, some analyzes are required:
– blood for AIDS syphilis, hepatitis, blood group and Rh factor
– general and biochemical blood test
– general urine analysis
– smear on flora
They must pass or in the LCD or in the hospital, to which it belongs. Referrals are also issued in the name of the husband, since he must also pass some tests: a blood test for AIDS, syphilis, a blood group, and the Rh factor. Still, be sure to go to an appointment with a pediatrician and therapist. Such procedures need to go through only twice during the period of pregnancy: at the beginning and before the decree.
The first months of pregnancy, I went to the doctor once a month. Before each turnout it was necessary to pass a urine test, according to which the doctor monitors how the kidneys work. Many people are worried that at every turnout they will have to climb this frightening gynecological chair. I want to dispel this myth. During the visit, the doctor measures pressure, tracks weight, checks the height of the uterus, and listens to how the heart of the baby beats.
At the end of the first trimester, that is, exactly at 12 weeks, you need to pass a blood test for screening and take an ECG ticket. And then I waited for the long-awaited first ultrasound, which we went with my husband. Now in many hospitals it is provided that future parents want to look at their baby together.
I remember these amazing sensations when you fully realize that you now have a little life. My husband was also in seventh heaven with the joy of seeing our little one. Now, with trepidation, they began to treat their tummy and count every minute until the next ultrasound, in order to see their little piece again.
Mid-pregnancy: second trimester
During the second trimester, my tummy began to grow. If before that it was not particularly visible, now it has changed every day. Somewhere in the 16-17 weeks, I felt the first movements of my daughter. These are such extraordinary emotions. I was worried that I could not understand how the baby was kicking, but this is not to be confused with anything.
At 22-24 weeks of pregnancy, a second ultrasound is prescribed. On it, the doctor has already said the floor of the child, showed how large the arms and legs are already. She looks at how the placenta is attached, its condition, the quantity and quality of the amniotic fluid, and the development of organs. But the most important thing is that from this point on you can quietly start buying things for a future baby, since the floor is already known. Our daughter was constantly hiding, turning away from us and did not want us to spy on her.
The last trimester begins with the registration of maternity leave and documents for maternity capital. The doctor gives directions on the delivery of the same tests as at the beginning of pregnancy. At 32-34 weeks they make the last ultrasound, which determines the approximate height and weight of the baby, what is its position in the uterus (pelvic or cephalic presentation), condition and quality of amniotic fluid.
In the same period of pregnancy, CTG is prescribed. The future mother lies down on the couch, the suckers are attached to the tummy, and for 30-40 minutes the doctor monitors the baby’s heartbeat. And at 36 weeks you will need to go for a second appointment to the therapist and pediatrician. Turnout will now be more frequent: once every two weeks.
Future moms do not have to be afraid of observation by a gynecologist during pregnancy, it brings only pleasure. At each turnout, you can hear how the heart of a baby beats, what state of health you and your baby have, and most importantly, the way to the most magical moment of your life – the birth of a baby!
