I was 30 years old when I got pregnant. Pregnancy was deliberate and desirable. By the age of 30 I had time to get an education, take a walk, achieve success in my career … In my opinion, it was the kid who should have become a logical continuation of my life.
I decided to register for pregnancy in a private clinic, which was not far from my work. This choice of medical institution was made by me for several reasons.
The reasons for my choice of a private clinic
1. I understood that I would have to work for as long as possible, and I did not want to go on public transport to the polyclinic at the place of residence. Here before the clinic was 15 minutes of useful walking.
2. There were no substitutions for me at work and any excommunication from the workplace caused stress to my management. The director began to call me, and I began to get nervous.
3. If a pregnancy is suspected, I donated blood there for hCG and consulted a gynecologist. I was immediately bribed by a great attitude, wonderful equipment, good room, no queues and high speed of work.
4. Visiting doctors in a private clinic was not limited to short-term shifts, but took place from 8.00 to 20.00. That is, it was possible to visit the doctor before the start of the working day or after it. Also at lunchtime.
5. For clients the following additional services were provided: aqua aerobics for pregnant women, yoga and courses for expectant mothers. The latter were absolutely free.
I earned enough and without hesitation I decided to undergo medical examination and become registered at this particular clinic.
How it all happens for our money
In 10 minutes they took blood for all tests and set a time for visiting each necessary doctor. Namely – the therapist, oculist, endocrinologist, as well as an ultrasound diagnosis room for the first screening.
Not a single doctor’s appointment I had to wait. If I was recorded at 18.30, then it was at this time that I entered the office and got into it.
I didn’t have to take anything with me to the gynecologist. Disposable inspection kits, bed sheets and shoe covers were included in the consultation price.
The girls at the reception smiled at me, and the doctors listened carefully, answering the stupid questions of anxious pregnant women 100 times. For every client, any doctor had 30 minutes. During this time, you can hear a lot of useful things, find out the answers to all the questions of interest and not watch the indifferent, yawning doctor looking at his watch.
I can talk for hours about the ultrasound procedure in this clinic. It was possible to come to the ultrasound with anyone. For the audience, near the couch pregnant, there were 2 chairs. The procedure itself was as follows: the client lay down on the couch, carefully lined with a disposable sheet in advance, and looked at the huge TV screen that hung specially for him on the wall.
During the procedure, the doctor patiently showed curious mommy, where the baby has legs, handles, thigh, heart, lungs … At the end of the study, they give out wipes in unlimited quantities for wiping the gel on the stomach. At the request, make a photo or video and, with the wishes of a good day and smiles, are forgiven.
The fact that the choice of a private clinic was correct, I learned when I got to the endocrinologist. It turned out that I have hypothyroidism, which I did not even suspect. He could have a very negative impact on carrying a baby.
But the endocrinologist is not included in the clinical examination commission when registering in the state polyclinics of Ukraine. This means that, despite the good test results in other areas, it was possible to get hold of the unpleasant outcome of a long-awaited pregnancy.
The director of this private clinic saw the need for the presence of an endocrine system professional in her staff and, quite possibly, it was with this that helped me become a mother.
In connection with the identified problems with the thyroid gland, and later bacteriuria, I was forced to visit doctors more than once every 3 weeks. Along with visiting doctors, I had to regularly take expensive tests.
Despite the fact that tests could be taken in any laboratory of the city, and not only in their clinic, they did not become cheaper. Because of this, the total amount of money spent during my pregnancy was impressive.
And the second thing that I remember from the negative side is that the clinic itself was not certified for registering clients. Therefore, in fact, I was put on record at the state hospital. And once I had to visit her when I took the sick-list to go on maternity leave at 30 weeks. For the rest, the place where I was registered officially did not concern me at all.
And in the end I will tell…
Now I can safely say that during a repeated pregnancy I will make every effort to register again at this clinic. I really liked such a pleasant and friendly attitude to the sensitive and vulnerable soul of a pregnant woman.
Although every doctor’s appointment was worth the money, my nervous system remained unharmed. I did not hang around for hours at the general polyclinics and was not spoiled by the contemptuous views of the doctors at the antenatal clinic.
And how did you manage pregnancy?
