Sweating in newborns
The skin of newborns and children of the first year of life is very tender, and their thermoregulation is still poorly developed. Therefore, when overheating, as a result of increased sweating, on the skin of babies may appear irritation – sweating.
Among the reasons for the appearance of sweating, there are two main groups: external causes (depending on the environment) and internal (which depend on the characteristics of the baby).
The skin of the child is thinner, it is rich in blood vessels, the pH of the skin is closer to neutral (while for the bactericidal action of the skin, a more acidic value is required). These skin features make it more vulnerable to damage and reproduction of microbes on it.
Another feature of newborns is a special regimen of thermoregulation. Due to the imperfection and immaturity of the thermoregulation center in the brain, young children tend to both overheat and overcool.
As for external factors, the first place can be put defects in the care of the child. This is a lack of hygienic procedures, the child’s killing, when the child is constantly in warm, dense clothes, as well as the abuse of various children’s cosmetics, and, to a greater extent, fatty creams and oils.
