How to quickly put a child to bed: useful tips for parents on motion sickness and choosing a sleeping posture
It is difficult to overestimate how important a healthy full-fledged sleep is for a baby. At this time, the brain develops a newborn, the growth hormone is produced, the nervous system is strengthened and resting. But not always the kid is able to fall asleep himself, he may need help. And then the parents have to decide for themselves the question of how to put the child to sleep easily, quickly and without whims.
From the first days of life, sleep in children takes most of the day and lasts from 17 to 20 hours. If the crumb does not stay awake longer than his age, physical and psychological health problems may arise, which will lead to a delay in development.
The sleep of a newborn, although very different from that of an adult, also consists of the following phases:
- falling asleep;
- superficial sleep;
- deep (slow) phase.
The infant has a deep phase only 30 minutes after falling asleep and lasts no more than an hour. After this, a period of superficial sleep begins, during which the infant can tremble and move. Since the cycle of the surface phase exceeds the duration of the deep, during this period the crumb sleeps very sensitively. Immediately after falling asleep, the baby is able to wake up a slight touch or a soft sound, so you should be careful when laying crumbs.
The mattress is needed hard, with a waterproof mattress pad. As a filler, a coconut coir is perfect. A pillow of the baby is not needed to avoid problems with the development of the spine, instead of it will be enough folded diapers.
Bed linen must be clean, made of natural fabrics. Do not over-decorate the place to rest the newborn bumpers, canopies or put there soft toys. It is recommended to use a carousel suspension. Many children easily fall asleep under quiet, soothing music, watching the monotonous rotation of toys.
The newborn needs comfortable clothing. She should not restrain movements or be excessively warm. It is allowed to use a light blanket.
To increase the length of rest, the last meal in the evening is recommended to be late. You can feed the baby a little more tightly, let him get more food than he usually does.
At 4 months the child sleeps about 15-16 hours (this is day and night sleep). The nighttime sleep takes no more than 10 hours,.
