Frankly, I have been trying to track weight changes for many years. Perhaps, ever since the possibility of creating graphics appeared in computer programs. But all these attempts were unsuccessful. After all, if you weigh yourself once a week – the schedule is built slowly and you lose interest in it. But weighing yourself every day was not the case – after all, in the confusion of the beginning of the day, you will forget to write down something, you simply don’t have enough time.
Apparently, not only I had such difficulties. In the end, the wonderful Libra program for android devices appeared, which became a help and cause of disappointment for me. But let’s take a closer look.
After installation, you will see a window with no data. Press the menu call and select Settings.
The settings in the program are very flexible and really a lot of them. But the most important ones are brought up – these are the units of measurement and your parameters. Enter your desired weight and available height so that the program can make calculations. Be sure to tick the autosave! Otherwise, if your data fails, your data will be lost, as it happened with me.
The data is saved once a week in Excel format and takes up very little space on the flash drive. Another useful feature is an automatic reminder to weigh yourself. The tiny icon will hang at the top, until you enter data about today’s weight.
Then go back to the first menu and click on the plus sign in the upper right corner. A dialog opens where you need to add your weight today. This is very easy to do – you can scroll the tape in the right direction or by clicking on the number to enter using the keyboard.
If in the first menu you click on the lines in the upper right corner, you will be taken to a dialog where you can delete and edit existing entries. Sometimes it is useful. By the way, here it is shown how much you have gained or lost weight on this particular day.
And finally, returning back to the first menu, you will see a curve of its weight. The beauty of the program is that it automatically displays the average value on the chart. This allows you to see a more realistic picture than if the graph were based on the data provided by us. After all, our morning weight depends not only on whether we already went to the toilet or not, but also on pressure, dinner time, whether we drank at night, swelled, or far from menstruation … well, morning weight, of course, the most realistic, but not always truthful.
Red italics show what will happen if we continue in the same spirit. Alas, but, as the program showed, my joy about the lost kilograms was premature. Having fallen sharply down, the weight is again creeping up. Why? This issue has yet to be resolved. But I would notice it, focusing on the weekly weighing? Strongly doubt.
Here, on the graph, the program automatically shows how the user should lose weight ideally, and the approximate date when the weight will be reached. For clarity, the figures show the change in body weight per week and the forecast for the next. The forecast is also calculated based on the available indicators and (not unimportant!) The degree of obesity, body mass index.
By the way, the schedule can be compressed and stretched – depends on your desire. Buttons appear when you click on the graph.
Of the several programs I have tested, Libra is the best. I advise her to all who follow the weight. And if the previous Waterbalance program successfully helps me to monitor the water balance (the average value is finally equal to 0.4 liters per day!), I very much hope that Libra will help me to lose weight faster.
