I continue the theme of poor appetite in children. Very often, children do not eat anything in kindergarten. Assuming this situation with my child, I decided to start preparing in advance. To begin with, I identified for myself the simplest and most common possible reasons for this.
1. The child is not accustomed to eating at home. What do you mean right? Many mothers quickly want the child to start eating adult food – and the mother is easier and the child’s diet becomes more diverse. It’s so nice to watch a child when he eats with pleasure. And children, alas, do not like the most useful things: sausage, mayonnaise salads, fried foods – children get used to it all very quickly. I’m not talking about different chips, crackers and other yummy / muck. The question is: will the child eat kindergarten-cooked food?
I did not rush to transfer the child to adult food. Good nutrition reigns in our family now. I often cook porridge for breakfast. I removed the pan and I take it out very rarely. Salads we do for the most part, seasoned with vegetable oil. I cook the cutlets for a couple, boil the fish without salt (I would never have thought before that it is not only healthy, but also delicious), I cook soups without roasting.
Surprisingly, the whole family is accustomed to eat like this: my daughter and I are watching the figure and are only happy about this turn, and dad has no choice but to join us. In addition, we all forgot about the sick stomachs (pah-pah).
2. The child does not know that the first, second and third exist. The beginning of the kindergarten period for the child is an incredible stress. New environment, new people, new rules. So let him at least during dinner, he is not nervous and not frightened by the many plates around him.
I am already trying to feed my son a full meal. I put on some soup, be sure to give a second one and bread (in kindergarten they will also offer it to him), pour compote. Let him not always eat it all, but I propose necessarily. One and a half to two-year-old baby needs only 150 grams so that he can eat the second one.
3. The child has never tried some dishes. If a meat soufflé or, for example, a pea puree is never cooked at home, the child may refuse it. In kindergarten, they often cook cottage cheese casserole and scrambled eggs, and fish and meat are given in the form of a souffle. I periodically try to make these dishes. And by the very interesting, and the child gets used.
4. Negative mood of the child. If the mother complains that the child does not drink the kindergarten cocoa, exclaims: Well, it’s right, at home he drinks Nesquik, if he has your simple drink! Accordingly, he is unlikely to condescend to simple porridges and soups.
Of course, the reasons that a child does not eat in kindergarten are much more and, more often, these are psychological reasons. But the strength of each mother to make it so that the child would not have problems precisely because the food in the family and the food in the kindergarten are very different.
