Probably, every mother of the girl thinks at one moment about piercing her little beauty’s ears.
One of my friends pierced the ears of a daughter in half a year, the other – in three. I, too, was no exception, and as a daughter a year old I began to work through this question. In addition, on the first birthday, we were presented with beautiful ear rings.
At what age?
First of all, I began to be interested in doctors, from what age you can still pierce children. In fact, there is no consensus on this issue.
In the clinic where we were in patronage, ear piercing is done only after three years. There, doctors argue that up to 3 years old, organs are formed and it is possible to damage the nerve endings and harm the children’s organism. In another clinic, on the contrary, there are many supporters of early ear piercing. They find advantages in psychological factors and the ability of children to quickly forget the painful sensations.
So, I have identified for myself the following disadvantages of early ear piercing:
1) During the games, the baby can injure the ear. Especially in the garden.
2) The kids do not like various interventions, respectively, it will be difficult to handle the eyelet.
3) Plus, the view that it is possible to disrupt the process of the formation of organs.
The main advantage in early ear piercing is that children quickly forget the pain they cause during the procedure. Moreover, it is believed that the ears of babies heal faster, as the regeneration process is much better.
The minus of ear piercing already at a more mature age of children, I see this:
1) The kids already understand that they can be hurt. They fear it, they forget the procedure for a long time.
Yes, everything seems to be. And then go only pluses. The child consciously cares for the wound, less likely to get hurt. And most importantly, in my opinion, the girl herself decides whether she wants to wear earrings or not.
In general, deciding at what age to pierce a girl’s ears is the business of a mother. Perhaps, indeed, it is better to do this from early childhood. Or maybe wait for the moment when the girl herself will make such a decision. I, for example, want my daughter to want to wear earrings herself. I now had my ears pierced at the age of 6, and I remember this day as a day when I became more adult.
What time of year?
It turns out that it is better to pierce the ears in spring or autumn. At this time, not so dusty, and, accordingly, less risk of infection. At the same time, you can already walk without a cap, and accordingly, there is less chance of hitting the earring and hurting the baby’s ear.
Are there any contraindications?
Although piercing the ears and absolutely painless and quick procedure, there are several contraindications.
It is better not to do it when the girl is teething, or she is sick, or she has a severe allergy. I think a normal mom, under such conditions, will not lead her baby for additional suffering. It is also believed that you can not pierce the ears before prophylactic vaccinations.
