After the daughter went to the kindergarten, she began to get sick often and for a long time. We lived in a tiny apartment on the first floor, and the baby was very hard to sit at home for weeks in a tight space. Before me there was a question: is it worth walking with a sick child?
Our house was very close to the pine forest, and we could not be afraid to infect other children. I am responsible for the health of others and do not let my daughter play in the company when she is ill.
In agonizing doubts
But I was tormented by doubts, and is it helpful for my baby to be on the street during her illness. I decided to act on the circumstances. For example, the temperature of the daughter and summer outside. At home it is hot and stuffy, and in the yard there is a Tenek, a breeze and you can roll it on a swing for as long as you have enough patience or just read a book on the bench.
I usually listen to the recommendations of one of the most famous pediatricians in Ukraine – Dr. Komarovsky. This doctor has become popular among parents thanks to his simple practical advice that helps preserve the health of the child.
Dr. Komarovsky argues that if you are warmly dressed, but to breathe cool air, the temperature will drop. But when we need to wear a jacket and hat, and the baby has a temperature, we do not go for a walk.
In the absence of temperature, but in the presence of cough – we go for a walk, terrifying grandmother.
Clean, humid air (even if it is cool) helps the lungs get rid of sputum residues. The same story with a cold. In the cold do not risk walking.
The further, the harder
When my daughter grew up, it became more difficult. I have a very active little Lena, she likes to run and jump, and in case of illness this cannot be allowed. Therefore, if I see that the mood of fighting and to agree on a peaceful walk will not succeed, then we do not go out. Just aerate and moisten the air in the room.
If the doctor attributed bed rest, we, of course, obey and do not engage in arbitrariness. While the baby is sluggish and weak, then I do not insist on a walk, but if she asks very much, and the state of health allows and the weather is suitable, then we go outside.
