Our set of special exercises for flat feet, kids

I believe that monitoring health is important. Moreover, you should be attentive to the health of your own child. In addition, I believe that medical examinations should be mandatory and regular (for example, twice a year). They help to diagnose the disease early (if any) and find a solution to the problem.

As you, dear mommies, you know, you need to undergo a physical examination before a preschool and school education institution. This is a must-see. And we passed it with children. Before getting into the nursery, we had to go around all the doctors. My daughter is completely healthy, only the surgeon made a diagnosis – flatfoot of the second degree.

We can not say that this is a serious illness, just such a phenomenon, and in many children. At first glance it seems that there is nothing so serious about it. But in fact, it is necessary to do something with flat-footedness, it is impossible to let everything take its course, hoping that everything will pass by itself. I have already understood it.

When my daughter was diagnosed with flat feet, the doctor advised us to buy orthopedic insoles and do exercises. But we practically did not do them according to the scheme that we wrote. I was hoping for the effect of the insoles and the fact that my daughter was walking barefoot. Yet bare foot much more useful to walk on different surfaces.

The expected effect was not. A year later, at the medical examination, the doctor said that nothing had changed. The legs of my daughter even twisted a little. I was in unpleasant shock. In addition, the doctor said the same thing to my son at the physical. The surgeon forbade us to go in the flip flops that were on the children.

Shoes, according to the surgeon, should not be soft. It should be an instep and a small heel. A modern fashion footwear is not orthopedic. And if we are talking about the health of the baby, then what could be the fashion? I am sure that shoes should be comfortable and practical, natural. It should not be harmful.

I decided to review the shoes of my children and, if necessary, buy the most appropriate orthopedic models that have an instep.

If the insole does little, you need to take action. We, for example, smoothly passed to exercises.

When flatfoot walking is very useful. As I said, it is useful to walk barefoot both in the house (apartment) and in the yard. We live in a private house, so children’s legs walk on the sand, warm asphalt, grass, pebbles. Pebbles (flat stones from the sea) were useful to us too. I placed small pebbles on the floor and said that I had to walk along them.

The children walked until they got tired. And then we diversified our exercise game: scattered beans and peas and ran barefoot. The children liked it, and I was pleased that without whims we were doing what was so useful. But everything is simple: you need to turn the exercise into the game!


What else is exercise with walking? It is necessary to walk on the toes and heels, on the outer edges of the feet. And also surgeons and orthopedists say that you need to walk on the socks with a high raising of the knee. How nice that summer has come! We do all the exercises in the morning (and during the day as well) in the fresh air in the yard.

We would not be us if we did not come up with something. For example, they learned how to roll a ball. They also tried to draw and write with their feet with a pencil. It turned out very funny. On the beach, for example, they drew their toes on the sand.
