Despite the fact that now there is a huge number of educational toys that make sounds, move and shine, and indeed do a lot of things, I believe that a child cannot be replaced by a designer. Because any, even the simplest, designer makes the child think logically, develops coordination, motility, teaches to compare sizes, etc.
But as it turned out, it is not so easy to choose this toy. I learned this from my own experience when I decided to buy a designer for my 18 month old son.
Attempt number 1
The first time I bought a huge box with a designer – I don’t feel sorry for anything for a child! However, I almost immediately became disillusioned with my purchase. The kid was not so much played as scattered all the parts around the apartment.
In addition, the parts I chose the small ones so that they fit in the children’s palm, but I did not take into account the fact that children love to stuff everything into their mouths. I had to constantly monitor carefully, so that something accidentally did not end up in the baby’s mouth.
When I’m tired of working as a watchman, I realized that I had to change the approach to buying a designer and went to the store to get a new one.
Attempt number 2
This time I bought a small box with great details. The benefit was double: I did not worry when the child shoved the designer in his mouth, and if he was throwing him around the apartment, then it was much easier to find.
The only drawback was that the baby was in no hurry to use this toy for its intended purpose. I thought that the problem in the child, he does not want to develop! However, then she tried to assemble the designer herself and realized that it was impossible to do this, because it was necessary to make non-childly efforts.
Then I had to go to the store for the third designer.
Attempt number 3
This time I, among other things, asked the seller to open the packaging in order to try the designer in action. Thanks to this, the third purchase was successful! But for myself, I brought out a few rules that I want to share with you.
What should I look for when buying a designer?
The age of the baby. The smaller it is, the larger the parts should be. In addition, the smallest children do not need to buy designers with a huge amount of detail, 10-15 will be quite enough.
The stiffness of the material. The designer should not be rigid. If for its assembly it is necessary to make considerable effort, then it is better to refuse such a purchase.
Colour.Although the child really wants to buy bright toys, psychologists say that they should not be so. It is better to buy pastel toys.
And of course one should not forget about the safety of products. They must be made of quality materials.
Have a nice shopping!
