Surely many mothers have heard the opinion that weather factors not only affect the child’s condition, but also his health. Children of the first year of life are especially affected. We live in Siberia, and we have enough of these adverse weather factors, so I decided to look into the matter.

Most often, the child can react to such weather factors as temperature, humidity, wind speed and atmospheric pressure.

Air temperature

When I start to think about the temperature outside the windows of my house, I feel sad. Judge for yourself, the winter came here in November, in the fall the thermometer showed from 0 degrees to 15, in the spring we are waiting for the same temperature, and summer is expected as usual only in July.

And what do doctors say about this? For a human body, a temperature of 18-20 ° C is considered comfortable, the same border should not be crossed at home. In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to temperature fluctuations. If the temperature has decreased or increased by 15 degrees in a day, this may have an adverse effect on the body of both the child and the adult.

On ourselves, we constantly feel such vibrations, and I myself noticed that if the street was getting warmer, then my head was spinning. The child is anxious, capricious.

Extreme temperatures

This winter is especially frosty weather, in my memory the thermometer dropped to -38, and this is not just cold, but dangerous to health and life. If in such weather you go outside, then it is best to run, without stopping to the point of arrival. You can not allow the cooling of the body, especially when it comes to the child. The consequence of hypothermia can be a decrease in immunity and will not keep yourself waiting for various ENT diseases and ARVI.

The temperature can be not only extremely low, but also extremely high and this also negatively affects the children’s organism. Scientists call the threshold, after which the normal thermoregulation is no longer possible, it is a mark of 38 degrees. In such hot weather, it is better to sit with your child at home and go for a walk in the morning and evening, because there is a risk of sunstroke.


For a young child it is especially important to maintain normal humidity in the house. If in rainy weather, the humidity of the air increases to 80-90%, then during the heating season the humidity becomes as in the desert – 15-20%. Such dry air contributes to the formation of crusts in the nose of the child, and also increases the risk of colds in the child.

It is best to buy a special device that regulates the humidity in the room. But I do not have such a device, and I wash the nose of children with a special solution of sea water, you can buy it at the pharmacy.

Wind

Recently, I have noticed this trend: if the air temperature on the street rises, then a strong wind appears immediately. In my opinion, there is nothing worse than a strong wind. It is worth the child to sweat, he immediately blows. The feeling of cold when the wind increases several times. When my child was not a year old, our doctor did not recommend us to walk at all in such weather or close the wheelchair from all sides.

Atmosphere pressure

Sometimes a small child begins to feel bad for an unknown reason, to be capricious, to sleep poorly. My mother always says: probably something with pressure. And this statement is not far from the truth.

When atmospheric pressure drops, a state of oxygen starvation occurs in hypotensive. True, at the same time, hypertensive patients feel great. Conversely, if the atmospheric pressure has increased, hypertensive patients feel bad, arterial pressure increases. Hypotonics, on the contrary, are full of strength and vigor.

How to deal with the influence of weather on the child’s body

Of course, it is pointless and impossible to fight with adverse weather factors, but it is quite possible to try to cope with their influence on the well-being of your offspring.

The recommendations are the simplest: to comply with the regime, walk, do exercises and harden.

Recommendations on hardening are difficult for me to follow, once I tried to pour cold water myself and the memories were the most unpleasant. Therefore, I simply cannot pour cold water on my children. We found such a way out: go to the pool. In addition, we sit after the pool in the sauna, which I think only strengthens the body of the child.

In addition, as I wrote above, we wash our nose with seawater, this prevents the formation of crusts and increases resistance to all infections.
