Many children are born with a bunch of hair, which in the first months may fall out. This is considered normal. Most often, the hair falls out in separate areas, but very quickly grow back.
My youngest daughter was born with black curls, for me it was a shock, because my husband is blond, I have blond hair, and the eldest daughter was immediately born blonde. But my mother calmed me down, saying that I was also born with black hair.
Gradually, the daughter’s hair became pale and partially fell out. When she was about half a year old, we shaved her and now she has blond hair, like mine.
If a child is born with hairs, they are very thin and soft, hair follicles are weak. Hair falls out, new ones grow in their place. About a year old, children begin to grow tighter hair, they become thicker. Many parents at this age shave their children.
The coat of the infant is different, sometimes the hair is longer, sometimes shorter. But later all the hairs are aligned. And you can always shave your baby, it seems to me perfectly normal when little babies are bald.
Bald patches at babies
When the eldest daughter of three months appeared baldness on the back of my head, my husband and I were horrified and immediately went to the pediatrician. She calmed us down and said that it often happens when a child rubs his head on a pillow, a mattress.
To avoid such bald patches, you need to change the position of the child more often. But by the time she was five months old, when her daughter learned to roll over on her tummy, she tried to crawl, her bald patches began to disappear. New hairs grew.
With the appearance of bald patches on the younger one, we no longer panicked, but simply turned it over more often onto the tummy, on its side. But all the same in some places the hair fell out.
Later hair loss
If after six months the child’s hair continues to fall out, then you should consult a doctor. The reasons for this may be a lack of vitamin D, malnutrition, or an excess of vitamin A.
As a rule, the doctor prescribes vitamins, and hair growth returns to normal.
Very rarely, ringworm can cause hair loss. In this case, consultation with a doctor is a must!
I remember when I was little, in our kindergarten the girl walked in a headscarf, she was just deprived, as a result of which her hair was cut off completely. I understand this only now, but then we did not realize everything.
Shave your hair or not?
Previously, all parents a year shaved their children bald. It was believed that this contributes to better hair growth. This is not the case; the amount of hair follicles will not increase from shaving.
So why then shave babies? We shaved both daughters, but not exactly a year, but a little earlier. In order to even out hair growth. As I already wrote, hair grows unevenly, and after shaving, they begin to grow smoothly and beautifully. But no more of them!
The eldest daughter has liquid blonde hair, and even though we shaved her twice, they did not thicken. But the younger one has rather thick hair, and we shaved her only once.
If you decide to shave a crumb, then it should be done very carefully, so as not to damage the scalp and not to touch the fontanel, if it is not completely overgrown. To even out the growth of hair, you can simply cut them.
By the way, many doctors believe that the hair core finally forms by the age of five, so do not worry if your baby has too thin hair.
