Everything in our life happens for the first time. And it starts from birth. Once our mothers went out with us for the first time. I’ll tell you how I arranged a walk for my child for the first time.
My mistake or how long should I go for a walk
From the hospital I was taken with the baby by car in the afternoon. It was the middle of September. The next day I decided to go out with her for the first time. It was warm and sunny outside. I brought a new stroller to the street, bed with a mattress of love and went for the child.
I put a thin and biker vest on a baby, a cloth diaper, a thin cap and a knitted wool cap on top. Wrapped the child first in a thin, and then in a bikayu diaper and a thin blanket of padding polyester. She took with her a small light blanket, nevertheless, the end of September.
The baby did not resist. She pouted and soon fell asleep. Yes, newborns sleep a lot. I decided to walk down the street with the stroller. The weather was wonderful, the mood too. So we walked for about an hour.
I see our patronage nurse is going in the direction of our house. She asked in a cheerful voice, how long have we been walking. I praised saying about an hour.
The nurse looked at me seriously and began to explain that the baby should gradually be taught to walk in the fresh air, starting from 5-10 minutes, otherwise pneumonia is possible.
I was very surprised and upset, because it’s warm outside. Is walking really so dangerous? Then we went into the house. I swaddled the baby. The nurse carefully examined her eyes, ears, navels and left. And I waited for the night in anguish. I was worried, what if the child gets sick? But then everything worked out.
When and how to go for a walk
She taught other children to walk gradually, starting at 10-15 minutes. In order for the baby to grow strong and inquisitive, he needs to walk at least twice a day: the first time in the morning after feeding and the second after dinner.
To strengthen the immunity to go out with the children on a daily basis, even in cloudy weather. Of course, in the rain or bitter cold better to sit at home. Especially the kids really like to sleep in the fresh air.
Now, when I have constant access to the Internet, I know that immediately after discharge, walks are undesirable. A child of 9 months was in a sterile environment, and here there is such an invasion of microbes and various bacteria.
The first walk should be on the 7-10 day of the infant’s life. It is necessary to dress the newborn in accordance with the weather, avoiding wraps. Clothes and mattress should be made of natural fabric so that the baby does not sweat.
My opinion is that a week to wait until the first walk is too much. You just need to start slowly, giving your child the opportunity to adapt gradually.
By the way, the newborn must go out into the sunlight. The sun is involved in the formation of vitamin D in the body and regulates the activity of the baby’s brain. Scientists have found that the sun’s rays falling on the retina, a beneficial effect on the brain.
