Methylene blue in the form of powder and crystals is sold at the pharmacy, and an aqueous solution can be purchased at the pet store. It is usually poured into 50 ml vials. It is in this form that it is convenient to use in aquarism.

Infected fish are kept in this solution for three hours. To carry out such a procedure should be every other day, and usually five times is enough.

To process eggs from mycosis and other fungal diseases, a less concentrated solution should be prepared. To do this, take on 50 liters of water just 1 ml of blue.

In the prepared solution, the eggs are immersed for 2−3 hours.

To normalize tissue respiration from aquatic inhabitants, take 1 ml of the substance per 75 liters of water. Fish in such water should be kept for five days. For prophylactic purposes, methylene blue can be added to fish feed.

Usually on 4 g of food 2 g of synthetic dye is taken. But during the preparation of the solution, it is important to remember that you should take no more than 10 g of blue water per liter of water.

Despite the large number of advantages of methylene blue, it still has its drawbacks. And they are better known before using this tool.

For example, frequent use of blueberry can worsen the condition of plants.

If the aquarium has white decorative elements or a light primer is used, then all this can turn blue or blue. While working with this drug, it is necessary to wear rubber gloves, and if possible – a respirator.
