According to the instructions attached to the powder Azidine-vet, the active component of the drug is acetarate diminazena. This compound has the following pharmaceutical properties:

  • destroys parasites belonging to the Babesia, Trypanosoma and Theileria genera;
  • shows fungistatic activity;
  • fights bacterial microflora – streptococci, brucella, staphylococcus.

In addition to acetarate diminazene, phenazone is part of Azidine. This compound has antipyretic properties, prevents the development of inflammatory reactions, reduces the permeability of small vessels, has a local hemostatic effect and reduces the pain associated with parasitic invasions.

For the treatment of horses, goats, pigs, sheep and cattle use 7% Azidine solution. For its preparation, the powder is dissolved in water for injection., respecting the following proportions:

  • 0.24 g of the drug in 1.25 ml of liquid;
  • 2.4 g of the drug per 12.5 ml of solvent;

The prepared solution is stored in the refrigerator for no longer than 14 days.

An animal infected with parasites is injected under the skin or into muscle tissue. At the same time, the therapeutic dose of the drug for cattle, donkeys, pigs, horses, sheep and goats is 0.5 ml for every 10 kg of weight.

The dosage for cats and dogs is calculated based on the ratio of 0.05 ml of the drug per 1 kg of the body weight of the pet.

If, after a single injection of the drug, there is no positive change in the state of the animal, then after 25-30 hours, the procedure is repeated.

If several cases of a parasitic disease are detected in a herd of farm animals, then Azidine is administered to all individuals. The prophylactic dose of the drug (7% solution) is calculated from the ratio of 0.25 ml for every 10 kg of body weight.

Veterinarians remind that the total dose of the therapeutic solution (7%) administered to a single patient should not exceed 60 ml. Violation of this requirement may entail many adverse effects on the health and life of the farm animal or pet.
