Primary school behind, in front – a new step, fifth class! What will he bring to your child? Will it be comfortable for him in a new setting, with new teachers? What changes are expected in behavior and learning in the transition of a child to high school?

The transition from primary to secondary is a difficult process, both physiologically and psychologically. Children enter a difficult age, which is called a transitional, uneasy and contradictory period. At the beginning of adolescence (early adolescence, 10-11 years) with the child’s psyche, important changes occur: there is growing interest in communicating with peers, there is a desire to establish in the circle of friends its independence, independence, personal significance. All this can outweigh the interest in study and routine work.

At this time, their own moral attitudes are being formed. So, life phenomena gradually cease to be perceived in two colors, like white or black. This is a period of internal conflicts, searching for oneself. A paradoxical situation! Your fifth grade student in intelligence and ambition is already a teenager, and his emotional qualities and social behavior are still a child … He strives for knowledge of the world around him, is interested in everything new, wants to defend his rights and independence, opposing himself to the elders, but at the same time counting as a child to help, support, protect (and even some control) from adults, although not ready to admit it.
