The latest trends in fashion world
Part 5. The elegance, simplicity and luxury of cruise collections
Every year, all the leading fashion houses, in addition to the two seasonal collections, present to the demanding public another one – the so-called cruise or Resortcollection. First of all, such shows are intended for those people who are going to rest in the cold season on the warm and sunny sea coast. But, if you thought that cruise collections are the prerogative of only the rich and famous, then you are deeply mistaken. Why? It’s simple: often in the cruise collections are presented lightweight and less replicated models of clothing prêt-à-porter. Accordingly, the resortcollection is preferred by those women of fashion who do not want to see their new clothes on the pages of numerous magazines.
One of the first to present his cruise collection is spring-summer 2011, the fashion house Chanel. Chic and simple elegance – the main motto of Karl Lagerfeld models. As before, the master is true to himself, creating the image of a romantic and sexy, but purposeful and determined woman: silk trouser suits, long knitted dresses, transparent capes in the style of the 70s, flirty swimwear with a geometric print and white beach ensembles.
A completely different look at cruise collections offered Alexander Wang: instead of sophisticated and color-rich outfits – comfortable low-key models in a little sporty style. As the designer himself admitted, the collection was created under the influence of the noisy city streets of the big city. As a result, all models differ in bold asymmetrical design and details, as if borrowed from the men’s wardrobe.
