When my little son was 10 months old, he first began to attempt to walk. It was then that I thought about how to choose shoes. All the more winter approached, it was necessary to buy sandals for walking indoors, as well as autumn shoes.
Today I want to share tips on how to choose the first shoes for the baby.
Quality should be on top
The first thing I paid attention to was the quality of the shoes. I wanted the shoes to be made of real leather. I looked through a lot of shoe rows, went to children’s stores, looked closely.
Sandals of domestic production turned out to be of the highest quality. By the way, they are very similar to those that I had as a child 🙂
I noticed that these sandals have a very good model, they have a fairly solid backdrop. This means that he will not hesitate when walking, and will securely fix the leg of my child. Yes, and with such a backdrop, the shoes will not fall off the legs of my baby. Some advantages!
I was also told that the child’s first shoes must be with a heel. I bought sandals that have a small heel. He helps my child keep his balance and not fall back.
Why is an instep needed and is it needed?
Another detail that I paid attention to is the instep. I read that it must be present in children’s shoes. It was in such sandals that my child began to take the first confident steps, because the foot in them was correctly positioned.
And I want to advise you to choose orthopedic shoes. I just buy one for now. And let it be more expensive, but I am sure that my child does not deform its legs and will not damage the spine.
I also carefully considered the sole of the first shoe. It turns out that not all manufacturers care about the safety of our children. But we, the parents, have to worry about it.
I chose shoes with rough soles. I wanted the baby not to slip and fall.
Another important point that bothered me was the flexibility of the sole. And I found what I was looking for – shoes with a rather plastic sole.
I noticed that many moms buy shoes without their children, by the eye. I can’t do that. I need to make sure that the shoes fit my baby’s feet well. Therefore, we go shopping with the baby. We all buy strictly according to size.
And how did you choose the first shoes for your children? What recommendations have helped you?
