Halyazion on the child’s eye: we will discuss the main ways of treating the disease

Eye diseases, unfortunately, are not uncommon in young children. Halyazion is one of the most common pathological processes.

It can manifest itself both on the lower and upper eyelid, which requires an urgent appeal to a specialist.

The reasons for the appearance of the disease and the most effective ways to treat halyazion (upper and lower eyelids) on the child’s eye will be described in our material.

Halyazion is a swelling, which is obtained as a result of swelling and blockage of the sebaceous gland.

Often this type of illness is taken for ocular barley, because visually these ailments are similar.

In contrast to barley, this ailment is much more dangerous and if the time does not attach importance to swelling near the eye, the consequences can lead to an increase in the size of this disease.

In the normal process, the sebaceous glands of the upper and lower eyelids perform the function of the ducts. Occlusion, eventually, leads to stagnation of the duct and the appearance of swelling.

The main methods of treatment for haljazion are:

If these methods do not bring an effective result, then the doctor decides on the surgical intervention in the region of the child’s age.

If the parents did not pay attention to the complaints of the baby and did not take him to the doctor on time, when halyazion could be eliminated by conservative methods, then the only way out is surgical intervention.

Most often, this is an exit from the situation from aesthetic considerations. If the hailstones of children exceed the size of 5-6 centimeters, then surgery to remove the halazion in the child can not be avoided.

This type of operation is not considered complex and, as a rule, scarring does not remain for a century, since the main incision is made from the inside of the eye.

Most often, a relapse in children does not occur, except for those cases where the child is ill with dysbiosis or diabetes.

The operation process is as follows:

  • In the conjunctiva, a small incision is made, and the compaction is removed.

  • The seam is not imposed, but the bandage is worn, which must be removed after the expiration of two days.
